FIRST AID
INHALATION
Remove victim from source of exposure and move to fresh air. If
not breathing, clear airways; Provide CPR if trained to do so.
Avoid direct mouth-to-mouth contact. If the victim is breathing
with difficulty, trained personnel should administer oxygen with
subsequent continuous monitoring of the victim. Get medical
attention immediately.

INGESTION If the victim is conscious, does not convulse, and can drink fluids,
give him or her two glasses of water to drink slowly. DO NOT
INDUCE VOMITING. If vomiting occurs, keep the victim inclined
to reduce the risk of aspiration, repeat administration of water,
and observe for difficulty breathing. Ask for immediate Medic
assistance
EYE CONTACT
Wash immediately in an eyewash station with plenty of low-
pressure, preferably warm water, for at least 15 minutes. During
washing, separate the eyelids to facilitate water penetration. Do
not attempt to neutralize with chemical agents or drops without a
doctor's order. Get medical attention quickly.

SKIN CONTACT
Quickly remove excess product. Wash the contaminated area
completely with plenty of soap and preferably warm water for at
least 15 minutes. Remove contaminated clothing, shoes and

SECTION V
MEASURES AGAINST FIRE
FLASH POINT °C 37 – 39°C
FLAMMABLE LIMITS %v/v 0.6 - 8
Does not apply
SUITABLE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA

PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT TO FIGHT Self-contained breathing equipment to protect the

FIRE respiratory tract, as well as appropriate clothing and
gloves to protect the skin.
HAZARDOUS COMBUSTION No information available, but it may generate toxic
PRODUCTS gases.

Special considerations: Combustible liquid. It can form explosive mixtures at temperatures equal
to or above its flash point. The liquid can accumulate static charges by transferring or shaking.
Vapors can travel at ground level to an ignition source and burn back to their place of origin. The
liquid can float on water to an ignition source and return in flames. Pouring product into drains may
cause fire or explosion hazard. Produces toxic gases by combustion.
Procedure: Evacuate the fire area for 100 meters in all directions. If a container or tanker is
involved, evacuate within 800 meters. If product leaks, stop leaking before attempting to extinguish
fire, if you can do so safely. Cool containers with water as a spray, and remove from heat if you
can do so safely. Do not add water to the containers. Water may be ineffective in extinguishing fire,
since the product is insoluble. Approach the fire in the same direction as the wind. For massive
fires use nozzles with supports. Stay away from the ends of containers. Use self-contained
breathing apparatus. Normal firefighter clothing provides limited protection for this product and is
only recommended for rapid entry-exit operations in special cases.
Suitable Extinguishing Media: Small fires: carbon dioxide, dry chemical, regular foam. Large
fires: foam, water in the form of dew or fog. Do not use water in a stream.
NFPA: Health 1; Flammability 2; Instability 0 (official NFPA classification).

SECTION VI
MEASURES IN CASE OF SPILL OR LEAK
SAFETY DATA SHEET

Face the direction from which the wind is blowing. Avoid low areas. Eliminate all ignition sources
such as flames or sparks. Stop or control leak if you can do so safely. Ventilate area of spill. Do not
use metal shovels. Small Spills: Evacuate and isolate 25 to 50 meters. Contain spill with
polyurethane dams or special oil socks and absorb with inert absorbents such as hydrocarbon
socks, pads or mats, chemizorb or vermiculite. DO NOT USE SOIL, SAND OR SAW DUST.
Deposit waste in closed and marked containers. Wash the area with soap and water. Large Spills:
Evacuate and isolate the area 300 meters in all directions. Use water spray to cool and disperse
vapors and protect personnel. Prevent spilled material from entering water sources, drains or
confined spaces. For this purpose, prefabricated dams are available. Contact relief agencies.
Dumping into water: Use special spaghetti (boom) type absorbents to remove hydrocarbon from
the surface. Recommended Absorbents: Socks, Pillows, Rugs and booms.
