EES Nº 17 – MORNING SHIFT

ACT JUNE 20: FLAG DAY

INTRODUCTION
Management staff, fellow teachers, families, students, we are gathered to
commemorate Flag Day, and honor its creator, Don Manuel del Corazón de Jesús
Belgrano.
Today we can say with joy that many of Dr. Belgrano's dreams were fulfilled and
that, if we all commit to continuing on the path of democracy and respect for others, we
can deepen the construction of what we are missing.
In our history, the creation of the National Flag was a very important milestone due to
its permanence as a symbol of solidarity and freedom above all things and the
representation of the ideals of those patriots of May.
It is, at the same time, a reminder of our objectives as a nation, for which it is extremely
necessary to reveal acts of dependence on other nations, fighting against the idea that
what is outside is always better, valuing what is ours, our people, our culture and our
sources of national production, thinking about others, about the needs of our
compatriots, without ever giving up.

ENTRY OF THE CEREMONY FLAG

“The sky gave him its blue; the white, the mountain range; the sun, its radiant rays that
illuminated the entire country,” the poet sang.
To preside over our tribute, let us receive our Ceremonial Flags, carried by their
standard bearer and accompanied by their respective bodyguards and teachers.

ARGENTINIAN NATIONAL ANTHEM

United by the chords of our national song, let us renew our ideals of freedom in
the light of the creator of the Flag, remembering that only in the daily commitment of
each and every one of the Argentines will the laurels achieved be preserved eternally.
Next, with respect and emotion we will sing the verses of the Argentine National
Anthem.

ALLUSIVE WORDS

Because the nation that Belgrano dreamed of is not only built with daily actions
but also with words, we next listen to the teacher…………………………………………, who will
address some allusive words to us.

The need to stop to remember the action, participation and commitment of Don
Manuel Belgrano in the events that laid the foundations of the nascent country, back in
1810, as a member of the First Junta, is undeniable. He was one of the highest exponents
of Argentine history. Man of exalted spirit who had the inspiration to create an insignia
with the blue and white colors, the Argentine flag, which allowed us to have an identity,
marking the beginning of our existence in its maximum symbol of patriotism and
nationality. His actions and his own words give us an image of his person:
“I do not seek glories, but the unity of Americans and the prosperity of the
Homeland,” said our hero.
And so he did. Without being a soldier, he took charge of an army and went to
fight to defend his homeland, demonstrating his great ability and strategist.
He also stated: “the feeling of freedom transforms simple citizens into heroes, and
the courage of free men works wonders everywhere,” and he put it into practice during
the Jujeño Exodus, when an entire town placed itself in their hands. mobilized by his
conviction.
He also assured that “a cultured people can never be enslaved,” that “founding
schools is sowing in souls” and that “teaching is one of the first obligations to prevent
misery.” For this reason, a large part of their salaries were allocated to the creation of
schools.
We could continue sharing phrases and actions that highlight the figure of a great
man who lived in humility and simplicity.
Today, as we commemorate a new anniversary of the death of the creator of our
National Flag, it is appropriate to properly recognize these values for the young
generations. Manuel Belgrano with his life example showed what true and authentic
love for the country consists of, and he did so through his generosity, sacrifice, strength
and frank and noble diplomacy. But, above all things, he showed us the path to freedom.
The life of this hero ended on June 20, 1820, but his words still resonate: “They already
have a flag that distinguishes us from the other nations of the globe.”

REMOVAL OF CEREMONY FLAGS

We say goodbye to our Flag, which has not stopped accompanying us since the
beginning of our nation, with respectful applause.

CLOSING
With this simple act we wanted to honor those who dreamed of a great country, with
justice and peace. The values that inspired Belgrano when creating the flag of the
country leave us a clear and precise message: moral integrity, intellectual capacity,
solidarity and unity are historical values of our people, and necessary to strengthen our
national identity.
