1. Case Overview

The general description of the Petronas-Malaysia towers case was to build an imposing
building that would be a symbol of Islamic and Malay culture, so he conceived the
construction of two towers that would be the tallest in the world that would
differentiate them from the other Southeast Asian countries and that were a world
architectural icon.

It had 6 fundamental leaders:

The characteristic features of the project leaders were:

1. The leaders had extensive experience.

1. The fact that the ground could withstand the weight of the skyscraper and not
sink due to the composition of the ground was overcome by pouring concrete.
2. The concrete did not have to dry unevenly as cracks would appear, which
would mean that they had to pour all the concrete evenly for 52 hours by truck
(mixer) every 2 minutes.
3. The large amount of rain affected the foundation they were building, so they
decided to place tents to protect the foundation.
4. Limitation of materials, so it was very difficult to get steel beams in Malaysia
and if they were imported the budget increased, for which they used a new
concrete mixture that will support the weight of the towers
5. It was feared that the Petronas towers would be the target of an attack
because there were many attacks at that time, so they made sure that the
bridge that connected one tower to the other, in case of an emergency, people
could go from one tower to the other. tower.

6. How do you think they developed the technical study?

They developed it based on the needs of the project, so the total availability of all the
resources necessary for the execution of the project was taken into account; They
carried out studies on the location of the land and studies of the most suitable
materials and implemented all the safety regulations so that the 2,000 employees did
not have any type of accident at work.

7. Were project expectations met? Justify your answer.

If the expectations of the project were met, as it became the tallest skyscraper in the
world, it is currently a representation of Malaysian culture.
