BASELINE REPORT ON SAFETY AND HEALTH AT WORK
INTRODUCTION
The importance of Safety and Health at Work becomes more evident every day, an example of this is the
legal and regulatory provisions approved and to be approved. Law No. 29783 “Law on Safety and Health at
Work” and its Regulation DS No. 005-2012-TR, require Companies to Implement an Occupational Health
and Safety Management System, thus contributing to providing adequate working conditions, achieving a
safe and healthy work environment.
In every work activity there are dangers and risks that need to be identified and evaluated in order to be able
to eliminate them and/or manage them through appropriate control measures; and thus reduce the possibility
of work accidents and occupational diseases that can cause losses to property and mainly to the human
factor.
This Study started from recognizing the importance of having an Initial Diagnosis that would account for the
needs faced by WR&CC HNOS CONTRACTORS SAC, regarding Safety and Health at Work.
The report that we present below is the result of the execution of the pre-established phases, mainly of the
hazard investigation and risk assessment, as well as the analysis of the scenario and working conditions in
the different facilities and work areas; in order to establish “ The Baseline of Safety and Health at Work” of
WR&CC HNOS CONTRACTORS SAC

BASELINE REPORT ON SAFETY AND HEALTH AT WORK
I. BACKGROUND
This Occupational Health and Safety Baseline report is written to comply with the DS No. 005-2012-
TR, which establishes minimum occupational health and safety provisions, within the framework of
Law No. 29783, Occupational Health and Safety Law.
The preparation of the “Baseline Study on Safety and Health at Work” of WR&CC HNOS
CONTRACTORS SAC, responds to compliance with art. 37 of Law No. 29783 - “Law on Safety and
Health at Work”.
According to art. 19 of Law No. 29783 - “Law on Safety and Health at Work”, direct and testimonial
information was obtained based on the inspection and interview of the representatives of the
employer and workers of WR&CC HNOS CONTRACTORS SAC, in addition, visits were made to the
facilities determined by the Company for the identification of hazards and evaluation of risks within
each area. Thanks to this, the hazard identification and risk assessment matrix can be updated.
Likewise, according to art. 21 of Law No. 29783 - “Law on Safety and Health at Work”, the
prevention and protection measures (control measures) for the facilities of WR&CC HNOS
CONTRACTORS SAC will be detailed.
According to art. 35 of Law No. 29783 - “Law on Safety and Health at Work”, the risk map will be
prepared with the participation of workers, employers and the safety and health at work supervisor.
Finally, a list of training topics in occupational safety and health is provided, which we suggest be
taught in the system implementation stage.

BASELINE REPORT ON SAFETY AND HEALTH AT WORK
IV. BENEFITS
The benefits expected from the implementation of an Occupational Health and Safety Management
System are:
1. Reduction in accidents : The loss of time caused by accidents is reduced. Additional associated
costs are avoided, such as payments for additional time, retraining and shifts to other workers who
stopped working or helped the injured party.
2. Prevention of occupational diseases : If appropriate prevention measures are taken to protect
workers, the acute effects of harmful chemicals, such as headaches, dizziness, nausea,
disorientation, poisoning and dermatological problems, can be prevented. Its chronic or long-term
effects, such as cancer, respiratory diseases or neurological damage, can also be prevented.
3. Improved workforce morale: As a result of the OSH supervisor drawing attention to occupational
health and safety needs and improvements and providing a communication channel to each worker
to ensure they receive and address your concerns. Workers can see the results and know that the
employer is genuinely interested in eliminating risks. Therefore, the worker perceives a cleaner,
orderly and pleasant workplace.
4. Reduction of damages : In general there is little difference between the causes of an accident that
damages materials or equipment, and one that damages the physical integrity of the worker, but
both have very costly results for the company; human costs, meaning damage to the person
themselves, and financial costs, meaning the repair or replacement of some equipment and/or
material.
5. Production optimization : Because time lost as a result of equipment failure or poor work habits is
avoided or recovered.
6. Reduced material loss : Losses are often the result of poor work procedures that can be controlled
by increasing health and safety practices.
