LOADING PROCEDURE WITH FORKLIFT

1. AIM
Establish safe work practices that allow controlling dangers associated with loading operations with
forklifts to mobile units (Tugboat).

2. SCOPE
This procedure is applicable to all personnel (drivers) responsible for loading their mobile units with
forklifts of La Empresa de TRANSPORTES ETUJSA SA

3. RESPONSIBILITY
3.1 Manager of the Specialized Company : He is responsible for providing training on this
procedure to workers and enforcing compliance.
3.2 Drivers: They are responsible for complying with the specifications of this procedure.
3.3 Leader: Person in charge of coordinating the loading of the vehicle.

4. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT


4.1. Safety helmet.
4.2. Chinstrap.
4.3. Security glasses.
4.4. Waterproof jacket and pants.
4.5. Leather gloves.
4.6. Safety shoe.

5. EQUIPMENT / TOOLS / MATERIALS


5.1. EQUIPMENT: Tugboat, Forklift with forks
5.2. TOOLS: Slings, shackles, rigging, pallets
5.3. MATERIALS: N/A.

6. DEFINITIONS
 PETS: Written Safe Work Procedure.
 PPE: Personal Protective Equipment.
 Forklift: Equipment designed for loading the vehicle.
 Substandard condition: This is the name given to incorrect installations taken by operating
personnel.

7. Operational staff.

 Supervisor.
 Driver
 Forklift Operator.
 Floor Staff.

8. Procedure.

1. Daily work is coordinated.


2. The equipment is inspected and the check lit form is filled out.
3. The safety cones are removed and stored in their corresponding place located in
the back of the container.
4. The wooden blocks placed on the rear tires are removed and stored in the
corresponding place, located behind the bucket.
5. You get into the vehicle and put the key in the ignition and open the ignition.
6. Indicator clocks are checked.
7. The driver puts on his seat belt.
8. A honk is honked, the engine is cranked to turn it on.
9. Wait for the engine to warm up for approximately 10 minutes.
10. Before starting the vehicle, two whistles must be sounded.
11. Place the gears in first gear and start moving smoothly.
12. Approaching the loading area.
13. Cautiously climb onto the loading platform.
14. The fork is placed parallel and the arm is extended towards the material, the load
is picked up.
15. The fork is raised to a height of 30 cm and rotated and moved towards the tug.
16. Wait for the tug to position itself.
17. When the tugboat is positioned, a horn is sounded to stop it.
18. The cargo is lifted and unloaded along with the pallet onto the tugboat.
19. Steps 14, 15,17 are repeated.
20. Once the loading of the tugboat is complete, two horns are sounded so that the
tugboat can depart towards the parking area.
