I dedicate this work to God above all

things, to my parents and family for their
unfailing unconditional support and
following this professional path, to my

that they transmit to us for being excellent
professionals.
PRESENTATION

The present work gives us a lot of knowledge about the various medicines and
properties that cat's claw provides us with, since this natural plant only exists in the
Peruvian Amazon, and that many foreign researchers and scientists have taken
advantage of and experimented with various products. for human health.

Cat's claw gives us many of its healing properties, since there are people who
have been cured with this natural plant, in various methods, both ointments,
medicines, and others.

CHAPTER II

2.1. THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK

Although cat's claw was known and used by the Yáneshas and Asháninkas of the
central jungle of Peru to cure common diseases, it is known that its use as a
medicinal plant outside the indigenous sphere is recent, dating back just thirty or
forty years. The history of its scientific discovery dates back to 1830, the year in
which it was first written about as a species. However, it was not until the 1950s
when the German naturalist Arturo Brell carried out the first systematic studies of
the species using collected plants. in the central Peruvian jungle. The scientific
discovery of cat's claw as a medicinal plant and its subsequent dissemination
throughout the world as a “cure-all plant” began much later, almost a century later.

2.2- BENEFITS
This product has been used for thousands of years
by different tribes in the Peruvian jungle and
provides incredible health benefits. Cat's claw is
used in Peru to treat various diseases. According to
specialists, it serves to control inflammation such as
osteoarthritis and arthritis, to cleanse the digestive
tract, as one of the elements to treat cancer, helps
pregnant women in the postpartum period and helps
with hormonal imbalances.
Cat's claw offers many alternatives to improve health. Most of its nutrients are
concentrated especially in the bark, from which several alkaloids have been
isolated.

2.3. OTHER PROPERTIES

According to new research, there are new alternatives to protect the immune
system and one of them is this plant. Many of these benefits are still being applied
to humans. On the other hand, it helps in the fight against viral problems such as
flu, herpes, etc.)
The bark plaster applied to a snake bite prevents poisoning (used in the jungle).

2.4- USE
The traditional use of cat's claw was to make
a tea from the internal bark of the vine.
Herbalists offer cat's claw in powdered dried
bark capsules, as a fluid extract to use under
the tongue, as tea bags, and as bulk bark and
root for making tea. It is difficult to know the
best dosage. Furthermore, there is no way to
regulate the concentration of the active
ingredients in cat's claw. It contains at least six chemicals that are supposed to
have health benefits.

2.5-ADVANTAGES
 It can be used to treat asthma, recovery from childbirth and wound healing,
for joint pain, stomach problems, tumors, birth control, as a tonic to prevent
diseases, treat bone pain and cleanse the kidneys, irregularities in the
menstrual cycle, acne, fungi.

2.6- DISADVANTAGES
 There are no recorded side effects of using cat's claw. However, very few
people have been treated for cat's claw in scientific studies. Some cat's
claw products say they should not be used by pregnant women, or by
people with immune disorders such as multiple sclerosis.

6.-MATERIALS:

The materials we used were the following:

CAT CAIL OINTMENT

 Menthol………………….0.1 gr
 Eucalyptus oil…….2 gr
 Copaiba oil………10 gr
 Cat's claw……………….5 gr
 Glass container
 Casserole
 Wooden spoon
 Filter
 Jug
 Gloves
 Plastic or glass container to store the ointment

CAT'S CAIL HAND CREAM

 Glycerin
 Glass container
 Microwave oven
 A spatula or wooden spoon
 Cat's Claw Extract
 Water
 Plastic container to store the cream

7.- METHODOLOGY:

CAT CAIL OINTMENT

STEP 1: Melt the menthol in a water bath. Next, add the eucalyptus oil, copaiba oil
and cat's claw and keep it over low heat for a couple of hours.

STEP 2: Pour the mixture into the filter, holding it in the mouth of a jug.
Drain the liquid from the filter using gloves, as it will be hot.

STEP 3: Pour the mixture into the jars while it is hot. ATTENTION! This operation
has to be done quickly since Vaseline and paraffin solidify at room temperature.
STEP 4: Let it cool to room temperature and keep the container in a cool, dry
place.

PRECAUTIONS: Ointments should be used externally only. Contact with eyes and
mouth should be avoided. It is advisable that, before applying the ointment, you
obtain information about the plant to be used, because it could have
contraindications, and do a test on a small portion of skin to check that there is no
intolerance to the prepared remedy.

CAT'S CAIL HAND CREAM

STEP 1: Place your glass container in the microwave and turn it on for one minute
or until the glycerin and cat's claw extract mixture has melted. Remove the
container from the microwave. Mix it with a spatula or wooden spoon until you
have achieved a smooth and uniform consistency.

STEP 2: Pour 1 1/4 cups of distilled water into a measuring jug. Place the latter in
the microwave for one minute. Remove it from the oven and pour the water into
the bowl containing the glycerin and cat's claw extract. Stir the water again and
mix with a spatula or wooden spoon until you have obtained a smooth and uniform
consistency.

STEP 3: Add 30 drops of lavender essential oil to the mixture. Alternatively, add
15 drops of two of these oils. Stir the mixture well once more with a spatula or
wooden spoon. Wait for the cream to cool, then transfer it to airtight jars with a
spoon and cover them.

8.-RESULTS:

What is the result of the research work?

In our group we have had very good results when researching because we have
learned that almost all people do not know about it and are not informed about this
wonderful product that our Peruvian flora offers us, it can help them with some of
their diseases and it can cure them. naturally.

Cat's claw is a plant with great potential, it is one of the most commercialized and
exported medicinal species in Peru.

It comes in the form of dry bark, powdered bark (capsules), lyophilized aqueous
extract (tablets), ointments, filter bags such as infusion, candies, etc.
CONCLUSION

As we can see, with the consumption of Cat's Claw we can possibly obtain an
improvement since it is one of the medicinal plants that concentrates the foods
that increase our defenses considerably, achieving health recovery even in chronic
cases.
It has therapeutic properties (curative and preventive) and is recognized by
scientists and organizations around the world. It should not be consumed by
children under 12 years of age and pregnant or lactating women.

Improves conditions of the stomach and intestines, increases the immune

response, helps in cancer treatments (chemotherapy).
