SPEECH EXAMPLE
A speech is a locutionary act, a transmission of feelings and thoughts in a clear and orderly
manner. It is a delivery of information related to a predetermined topic. An attempt is
made through speeches to increase the knowledge of the people who listen to us (oral
speech) or who read us (written speech).
Speech example:
Dear Presidents,
The nation that I preside over sends a fraternal greeting to all the presidents gathered at
this World Congress on Citizen Security, thanking them for their tenacious work in
analyzing this issue that is so important for the entire world.
Presidents, the issues of robberies and violence have carried over a long period of time,
efforts and achievements of our country. Despite this, our government foreign policy has
financed and collaborated with projects organized by the United Nations related to the
issue in question.
It is necessary to remember the expressions made by the Director General regarding the
urgency in establishing possible solutions to this serious problem in our region. Presidents,
it is our duty to achieve the commitments adopted by our leadership and take all these
measures as soon as possible. Otherwise, we will find ourselves facing a serious problem
in the next five years.
Finally, I want to remember that my country believes that despite the difficult prognosis of
the situation at hand, we will take all the actions analyzed by many nations present in
order to put an end to criminal activity throughout the continent.
