Please describe your motivation to study public health, your focused research interest in the field of public health, and
your career plans in public health upon completion of the program. This statement must be typewritten or written in
block letters. Though there is no set limit, most statements are 1-2 pages, single spaced.

As a medical professional, I always believe that prevention is better than cure. To achieve the highest

physical and mental well-being. Only disease prevention is not sufficient. In addition, we need a strong

Public Health Infrastructure which includes high performing departments, capable and qualified

workforce, up to date information system, training systems and partnership with agencies that can assess

and respond to public health needs. Without studying public health program this vast knowledge cannot

be achieved.

After completing my graduation degree in Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS), I worked in six

different health care centers (Hospitals) and participated in charitable health care field programs in both

urban and rural area. And got chance to notice actual public health problems.

Since Bangladesh is a developing country suffering with large populations issues as well as low socio

economic conditions and illiteracy. So, different type of communicable diseases surrounds us throughout

the year. It is really hard to prevent disease in mass population without appropriate health systems and

management. On the other hand, maternal and child health problems are still one major concern of us. On

top of that, ever increasing environmental pollution is triggering all of these disease process remarkably

Undoubtedly these current circumstances motivate me to study in Masters in Public Health for Global

Health. I have decided to switch my career path from clinical to research field. I would like to have my

footprint as researcher in Maternal and Child Health problems. This master’s program would help me to

learn advance statistical procedures that used in empirical research.

Moreover, I have chosen Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU) because it is one of the top rank

public university in world ranking, situated in the center of the Tokyo. TMDU is reputed for its excellent

professors to teach students with all dedication and enthusiasm. They cover all core and elective courses

of Public health in a most engaging way using not only lecture based learning method but also active case

based learning process. Also faculty members provide academic guidance information and supervise the

research projects as academic adviser to achieve the goals.

In addition, TMDU collaborates with Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Harvard TH

Chan School of Public Health. I have a strong desire to gain knowledge from such reputed institutions and

get the chance of internship International Organizations like Harvard/John Hopkins/WHO.

Last but not least, TMDU offers this Master’s Program in English. So, I believe this would be best choice

of mine and would give me the skills that enable me to continue doing the work I love. Investigating public

health issues and coming up with real solutions to resolve the problems on behalf of the community to

make better the life of citizens throughout the country and world.
