Why do I have more than one archetype?

You are most like The Enforcer

Enforcers are driven to engage with the world through
reliance on standards, rules, traditions. They tend to be
direct and straightforward, traditional and reliable, with
high standards for themselves and others.

Enforcers engage with the world by following and enforcing its rules and
traditions.

Typical Enforcers live life by adhering to established norms and procedures

and pushing others to follow and be accountable to them. They find
comfort in the stability, predictability, and control that rules create, but don’t
necessarily want to be the one creating them. Their strongest attribute can
be their willingness to be direct and blunt, and to maintain a sense of order
and discipline. They don't need to be in a position of leadership
themselves, but can serve an important role helping others stay in line.
They don't mind coming across as harsh or insensitive and are able to put
their feelings and opinions aside in service of maintaining high standards
for themselves and others.

Other distinguishing characteristics include determination and focus in

pushing through on tasks and objectives. They stand up for what they
believe in and tend not to back down when those beliefs are threatened.
They engage in work and decisions using a structured and well-ordered
approach that delivers predictable, consistent outcomes.

Enforcers’ weakness can be the other side of their strength - a tendency to

stick to rules even when it may not make sense. Additionally, they may at
times be resistant to stepping outside their comfort zone and taking risks.
Some may also benefit from learning to interact better with different types
of people, and developing more interpersonal skills can serve them well.

the Investigator

The Protector
Protectors care about traditions, rules and standards,
and are driven by a strong sense of personal duty. They
tend to be responsible, direct, traditional and
composed.

Protectors care about traditions, rules and standards, and are driven by a
strong sense of personal duty.

A typical Protector's strongest quality is often the personal discipline

brought to carrying out their duties and responsibilities. They approach
tasks with determination and focus, even when under stress or pressure.
They stick to the rules and generally believe that procedures and traditions
exist for good reasons; they build both into their daily activities and
approach to getting things done. When they see things that don’t make
sense, they speak up and give others a clear assessment of what they see
and think.

Other distinguishing characteristics include their precise and structured

approach to getting things done. Their preference for order can translate
into support for more traditional hierarchies, following the chain of
command and a willingness to serve a mission greater than themselves.
They readily maintain high standards and hold themselves and others
accountable. They may prefer when things are cut and dry and gravitate
toward practical, concrete, and tried-and-true solutions rather than new or
unconventional ones. They tend to be straightforward, take things
seriously, and prefer tasks to be clear, routine, and predictable, particularly
when they see change as unnecessary. They prefer to be just who they are;
no pretense or facade.

They can sometimes be tripped up by those who are too sensitive or too
indulgent in their feelings, and therefore may not express their own
emotions openly. They also may not have much patience for those who
don't meet their commitments. Some Protectors can benefit from learning
to interact better with different types of people, and developing more
interpersonal skills and EQ can serve them well.

Protector Talents

Maintaining order and discipline

Strong sense of duty and responsibility, often to something greater

than themselves

Meeting commitments reliably, not compromising their standards

Being honest and forthright

Protector Growth Needs

Being less resistant to change or new ways of doing things

Understanding there can be exceptions to rules

Being more flexible and lighthearted when appropriate

Keeping sight on the long term, not just what’s right in front of
them

Learning to let their guard down and trust people

The Investigator
Investigators are driven to research and analyze
information and data to build knowledge and
understanding. They tend to be logical and analytical,
rigorous, and more reserved and thoughtful than
outgoing and expressive.

Typical Investigators are logical, systematic thinkers who excel at creating

detailed analyses and proposing solutions consistent with their findings
and conclusions. Accuracy and objectivity can often be their highest
priority. They are keen thinkers who excel at identifying things that don't
make sense. This extends to an ability to readily perceive flaws and
mistakes and a willingness to call attention to them. They may be more
introverted, which can lead them to state their observations and
conclusions privately, and tend not to be overly emotional or expressive.
They may prefer to work things out in their heads and only share ideas
when they are more developed.

Other distinguishing characteristics include a reliance on logic and a

methodical and objective approach to making decisions. They have a
knack for organizing and structuring analytical processes and conclusions.
They tend to like puzzles and intellectual challenges and dig deep into
subjects and details. They may prefer to work and reflect by themselves,
and can find particular difficulty engaging with those who are highly
emotional, or who don't explore things rationally. They are systematic in
their decision-making and generally prefer not to take unnecessary risks.

Investigators can tend to take things seriously and may not appreciate
those who make light of important matters. Their reliance on logic can
leave them perplexed when emotions enter the equation and they may find
it difficult to express their own feelings openly. They may prefer not to
initiate contact with people in general, instead keeping their social circle
contained to the most important few, and even then they avoid being the
center of people’s attention.

Investigator Talents

Analyzing without emotional attachment

Being thorough and systematic in their approach

Analytical thinking and problem-solving

Striving for objectivity in their thinking, not sugarcoating what they

see as true

Reflecting internally and thoughtfully before making statements

and conclusions

Investigator Growth Needs

Being patient with those who are less analytical and methodical

Recognizing the role of emotion, not just critical thinking in

decision-making

Finding ways to express themselves, including feelings, more

openly

Being more flexible and lighthearted
