 If you are writing the NSC (National Senior Certificate) examination or any NSC subject/s this
year (2024), please upload a copy of your NSC Admission Letter/Personalised Timetable that
allows you access to the exam venue (this document contains your ID Number, Examination
Number and personal details). You will receive the NSC Admission Letter/Personalised Timetable
from the Department of Basic Education (DBE) before the examination date. Once received,
immediately upload on our website: www.cao.ac.za by clicking on the “Upload my
Documents” icon. This document is used by us to match and verify the information you
provided in your application against your final results when received from the Department of
Basic Education (DBE).

You can have a maximum of six active programme choices. It is your responsibility to ensure that your
programme choice name/s and codes match and are correct. Programme choices are processed using
the programme code.

If you have applied for a programme which has been or may be discontinued during the application
cycle, you have the option of only changing this programme at no cost by going online to
www.cao.ac.za and clicking on the icon “Change of Mind”. If you make any other additions and/or
changes, you will be required to pay the COM administration fee of R140. Irrespective of when you
submit a COM request, the fee remains R140. This fee can be paid online or at an EasyPay outlet and
your changes will become effective once the administration fee is received.

The CAO only accepts ONE APPLICATION for a specific entry year and intake. If more than one
application is received, the first fully processed application with payment will be available to the
institutions and any subsequent applications will not be considered. You may, however, make changes
to your original application online by completing a Change of Mind. Click on the “Change of Mind”
icon and follow the instructions.

programme is 30 September. We regret that applications received after this date cannot be
considered.Applicants who studied/studying at a tertiary institution must submit a certified copy of
an academic record not later than 10 January 2025. Students are required to undergo clinical
training/placements at training sites outside Durban (some of which may be in rural KZN) as part
of their mandatory HPCSA/SAPC/SANC clinical training. Such placements are compulsory, non-
negotiable, may be on rotational and/or longitudinal basis and may be extended up to a year or
longer. Whilst the University/College of Health Sciences will provide clinical training in collaboration
with the KZN Dept of Health, in line with UKZN regulations, students are responsible for the cost of
travel, accommodation and the basic costs of living, as applicable to and in the placement site

retain PLUS your "new" programmes. Any programmes not included in your latest list of
programmes will be withdrawn as per your COM submission.
