Offshore Supply Vessel Vos Pace Crew Threatened by Rescued Migrants
According to local media, VOS PACE rescued a total of 78 migrants from two boats. The vessel was instructed by
Moroccan rescue centre authorities to disembark the migrants in Tan Tan, Morocco. Some of the migrants became
agitated at this news and reportedly threatened the crew with knives. The vessel diverted to Puerto del Rosario on
Fuerteventura, Islas Canarias, where nine of the migrants were arrested by the Civil Guard for alleged piracy crimes.
There were no reports of injuries to the crew.
The 4,120 DWT vessel is managed by Vroon Offshore Services, Den Helder, Netherlands.
