AUTOMOTIVE DEONTOLOGICAL CODE

1. PREAMBLE

The profession of Automotive Mechanical Engineer influences many aspects of people's lives,
such as safety, economy and well-being. From this circumstance there is an important
responsibility towards third parties that must be contemplated in a code.

The model Code of Ethics that will be presented aims to express what the Society expects from
Automotive Mechanical Engineers in the exercise of their profession, establishing a series of
standards to guide them.

This code will be a set of standards to guide Automotive Mechanical Engineers in making
decisions and not a rigid and exhaustive set of rules of professional behavior. Like any ethical
code, it is based on the basic lines of the universally applicable principles of truth, honesty,
loyalty, fairness, candor, competence and responsibility, which are always applicable; although
they are not defined in a precise way.

The ultimate objective of this Code is the dignity of the profession of Automotive Mechanical
Engineer, giving a positive and broad response in all fields of activity, just as Society expects.

2. AREA OF APPLICATION

This set of rules will apply to all Automotive Mechanical Engineers in the exercise of their
profession and in the scope of their relationships; current or future; with the school.

CAPITULO 1

Art. 1: Respect for the Rights and Dignity of People

The Automotive Mechanical Engineer will not use the title to treat people in a derogatory,
daring, degrading way. The automotive mechanical engineer will value and consider others.

Art. 2: Professional Competence

In the professional training of the Automotive Mechanical Engineer, it is important to acquire


all the knowledge dictated by the teachers, so that professionally we are useful and able to
cope with any adversity, difficulty or problem posed. Continuous training, updating, and
innovation will be vital to work in the present.

Art. 3: Professional and Scientific Commitment

Promote scientific-technical dissemination in the science of Automotive Mechanical


Engineering, maintaining for the purpose exchange of knowledge and information service, in
addition to promoting and participating in the application of scientific-technical knowledge in
the development of national programs concerning the profession.

Art. 4: Integrity

The automotive mechanical engineer will practice his profession with honesty, morality,
impartiality and serve with dedication in the activities he carries out, always paying attention to
the truth.

Within the field of work, the boss-employee relationship must always be maintained, without
taking into account familiarity or romantic relationships; In addition, it must be taken into
account that currently there is gender equality in the workplace, so ignorance of machismo
must be avoided, and always keep in mind that what counts in people is their ability to work, to
thus maintaining the development of the place in which it works.

Art. 5: Independence

Participate in national and international competitions and conferences on Automotive


Mechanical Engineering and other similar ones.

Cooperate in the development of general standards and technical specializations that regulate
the design, quality of materials, execution and control of works related to this profession.

Require compliance by organizations that are related to Automotive Mechanical Engineering,


and also ensure the promotion of the National Industry and provide their support.

Art. 6: Social Responsibility

A person who wants to be an Automotive Mechanical Engineer must feel the need to be a
participant in technological development, they must be attentive so that all their work is always
aimed at the common good, and always for the benefit of the majority.

CAPITULO 3

Art. 7: Respect for others

All the knowledge that one has had the opportunity to acquire during the training of an
automotive mechanical engineer must be frequently updated, but this does not mean that the
majority of people will be discredited for thinking differently, perhaps some people know more

• It must be clear that business is business, that is, it is not appropriate to mix feelings or
personal situations with work; professional obligations must be fulfilled fully.

CAPITULO 4

Art. 9 Fees and Financial Agreements

Loyalty to one's professional neighbor will always be present, that is, the remuneration for each
hour of work or contract that is accepted will have the same value anywhere in the national
territory. To avoid price variations in the jobs performed by an automotive mechanical
engineer, there must be a generalized table of the most frequent jobs, thus having a guide to
know what value to charge for their services.

Art. 10 Documentation of Professional and Scientific Work
