THE LITTLE LOST PLANET

Ziraldo (Brazilian Writer)

“They once sent a man into space towards a lost planet.”

It was a planet so distant but so distant that the fuel ran out when the rocket finally
reached its destination. And it was a small planet located in the middle of space in
no one knows what galaxy or what constellation.

The astronaut walked around the entire planet and went around the world in less
than eighty steps (the planet had no river, sea or mountains). And seeing himself
alone, the astronaut shouted: "Help!"

And no one knows for what nebulous reason his voice traveled back along the path
of the spaceship. And throughout the entire Earth from end to end he was heard
shouting: “Where am I? What do I do here? Who I am?"

It was a general scare without any explanation: here, so far away, on Earth everyone
listened to what he said alone there in space as if there were a powerful loudspeaker
service (from an amusement park) with the microphone installed on the planet. of
the astronaut. If he started crying, the whole Earth heard it (a phenomenon of
frequency or, perhaps, of attunement).

And the scientists on Earth also felt lost, they were all gathered together to find a
solution: "What can we do?" Bringing the astronaut back wasn't possible, but letting
him starve didn't look good either.

Since the computers knew – by heart – the route of the lost spacecraft, the scientists
sent the astronaut a gift of a rocket with a lot of food for the daily hunger.

And everyone here on Earth was able to sleep again with the silence of the night.
Only very rarely did they wake up for a while with the noises that came from space
from time to time. But they went back to sleep calm and happy when they
immediately heard the astronaut's voice saying in a very delicate tone: "Excuse me!"
(because he was very polite).

"Send him music!" The owner of a recorder spoke with a saving voice. “Send records,
video clips, tapes, cassettes, songs, send radios, record players, recorders,
televisions.”

“But also send him a pair of headphones,” a forward-looking person immediately

added. “In case we don't like their programming!”
And they sent a colossal rocket loaded with songs (all the songs in the world) with
exclusive headphones adaptable to the ear of the lonely astronaut. And once again
there was total silence. And everyone was able to continue without running into
great danger (hearing only what the record manufacturers wanted).

A long time passed until one day, once again, the entire Earth woke up to hear, from
very far away, sung with a nostalgic voice and without accompaniment, a very
beautiful song, so beautiful that it seemed to have all the songs in the world in its
soft chords. And the song went like this:

so alone, so alone
with anybody...
The one who leaves
carry the memory
of someone.
And the memory is cruel
when there is love.
I feel a pain in my chest
and avoiding it is impossible.

I can not anymore.

Nobody is sorry
of my pain.
Cry, like I cried
no one should cry.
Rose, oh Rose!
How are you, Morena Rosa?
With that rose in her hair
and that proud walk.
Oh, how nostalgic I feel!

Everyone was very moved, not knowing what to do to save the astronaut who was
dying of loneliness and nostalgia. Then the scientists from the Space Office received
a visit from Rosa: "I am the astronaut's girlfriend!" The worried little eyes of the head
of the scientists began to shine and he immediately asked: "Do you know how to
fly?"

Rosa, then, was launched in a pink rocket, very pretty and well-groomed, an
astronaut as pretty as the entire Space had not yet seen. And as the rocket went up
the chief scientist said to his assistant: "How come our minds had not thought of
this?" And everyone on Earth began to look at Space watching the rocket go up with
Rosa and Rosa's love. Waiting for the arrival to hear what the astronaut would say
when he saw his Rosa arrive like this, in surprise.
And then, on the planned night, the entire Earth woke up agitated and anxious
hearing the astronaut shout Rosa's name. "PINK!".

Until that moment (let's say: forever) the astronaut was never heard crying, or
shouting, or imploring, or shouting, complaining or cursing. In space there are, now,
only stars and silence. Well, as the Space Office staff reported: "The "The tuning or
frequency of the lost planet does not allow us to hear whispers."
