With more than fifty years of experience in the pharmaceutical branch, Farmacias
Simán are a symbol of trust, tradition, variety, solidity and security. Conveniently
located and constantly growing, Farmacia Simán represents “The complete pharmacy”
that seeks above all the well-being and health of our clients.
History
The Simán family in Honduras is synonymous with pharmacy and medicines. Currently,
the Simán Group of Honduras is made up of several companies related to the
manufacturing, distribution and sale of medicines.
In 1957, the first pharmacy opened in front of the central park of San Pedro Sula with
the name Farmacia Simán. In the early 60's Farmacia Simán began distributing
international pharmaceutical companies such as Abbott, Merck, Arco, Hausmann
(today Vífor), among others.
A new pharmacy: Súper Farmacia Simán opened its doors in 1972 and operates as a
branch of Farmacia Simán. It becomes a successful pharmacy and soon gains the
reputation of being the most stocked pharmacy in the city. Since 2003, Farmacia Simán
has opened new branches in strategic points and in all of them the vision and mission
are part of it, as well as the philosophy of representing the Complete Pharmacy.

The purpose of the research project is not to obtain radical changes in the economic
indicators of SIMAN companies. It is the implementation of the tools, 5S's and TPM
(TOTAL PRODUCTIVE MAINTENANCE). It focuses on demonstrating that organizing,
ordering and cleaning, which may be considered trivial or too simple and which are
concepts associated with the domestic sphere but little in the business sphere, are the
first step that must be followed for any organization in its improvement process to
increase productivity and obtain a safe and pleasant environment.
Main goal . Establish the 5S's and TPM program in SIMAN Pharmacies, taking a pilot
operating unit as a basis for the sustained implementation of management systems.
Specific objectives.
Limitations.
The scope of the research project is limited to a pilot industrial training and
qualification unit in a sales center of the SIMAN pharmacy, because it is an area where
typical activities of a company are found where it presents the greatest problem due
to the limited space. that exists and the problem that exists of the lack of order and
where security conditions must be guaranteed through risk management and loss
prevention.
In this place the 5S's methodology will be deployed systematically. The results of the
supervisors' observations will reflect the indicators of the 5S's TPM tools, which will
allow describing the initial and final state of the chosen pilot unit.
