Evolving Perceptions of Science

Before coming to this class, I had a rather rigid and stereotyped vision of science as the

collection of facts and theories, not different from what was depicted in the YouTube video titled

“How simple ideas lead to scientific discoveries.” Reflecting on the very idea behind this

presentation, I had a very linear view of science. Unfortunately, I did not realize that the

scientific process is not just straightforward and consists of multiple cycles, which was not

shown in the video. As for the other assigned media, I have realized that science is not just a set

of facts or knowledge but a constant activity based on questions, observations, and

reconsiderations. This has expanded the view of what science is and what science can do in the

world.
