A culvert is to be constructed to pass the flow of a canal under a road. Figure (1) shows the cross sections of both the canal and the road at the culvert site. The maximum discharge passing through the canal = 6.0 m3/sec. The entrance and exit wing walls are of box type. It is required to: 1. Carry out the hydraulic design of the culver using: a. R.C. box culvert. b. Pipe culvert using pipe diameter of 1.80 m. 2. Draw neat sketches showing plan half earth removed and section elevation for the above two cases.
