Encouragement 101: The Courage to Be Imperfect

By Timothy D. Evans, Ph.D.

I realize that …
- I realized that it's okay not to be perfect because there's no such thing as a perfect
human being. We all make mistakes, and that's fine. It takes a lot of courage to
accept our mistakes because we know we can learn from every flaw we make. So
let's accept our imperfections and keep moving forward, no matter the obstacles
in our path. The beauty of imperfection is that it allows us to see our own
humanity.

The power of Personal Declarations

By Dr. Emily De Carlo

I realize that …
- There is no small influence in our life- it has huge and direct effect on who we
are." When we speak up, it boosts our self-confidence, and it is easier to get the
things we want. When we expressing our intentions either through speech or
writing, we're willing ourselves to realize our goals and devote ourselves to our
objectives. It brings us back into a reality and helps us focus on the process which
ultimately leads us to the desired end. It's almost like we have found the right
direction to follow. Declaring plans randomly can be a great force for creating
our future and turning our dreams into reality.

Being Happy

I realize that …
- Happiness is one of the most admired forms of success. This embraces our way of
life and leads us to perform what we enjoy with feelings of the fulfillment, inner
1
peace, and emotional wellness. To me, being happy is as if on a beautiful day you
are lying in the sun for the first time, the sunrays making you feel peaceful and
satisfied. And it's the same to your heart to listen to your favorite song and feel a
sudden upsurge of happiness and pleasant memories. This is like sitting with your
friend, sharing happy thoughts and having good time, when no one else
understands you, and it is shared between you only. It is like tasting a pleasant
meal, which satiates the mouth as well as the soul completely. The joy is just like
the moment of having breathtaking eyesight of the romantic scenery of the
massive sunset and reminds you of the beauty and the wonders of the world. It’s
just the same as hugging loved ones and you do feel at ease and that you belong.
Finding joy is like getting a brief feeling of satisfaction in the middle of life’s
problems, it is a reminder that every all the troubles will pass away.

Entry #: 11 – My Slogan or Personal Declaration on Being Happy

______________________________________________________________________

Explain your thoughts and feelings about your slogan. Include specific ways in which
you will develop yourself further.

Self-Happiness Found in Yourself!

I have the title of "Happiness Starts Within" for by my belief the right happiness comes
from us. It is about that feeling of inner happiness and inner calmness even in most
adverse situations. A happiness that stays sustainable and magnificent is what we
embrace when we open ourselves for happiness. That includes a lasting inner peace and
fulfillment that doesn't vanish when difficult times come.

"To live my life by the slogan of being grateful every day" is what I have decided to do.
I will try to appreacite every situation from the positive perspective than trying to
handle the challenges that comes on the road with wisdom. As a further step, self-care
and mindfulness would be on the top of my list, which would mean dividing some time
for looking after my mental and emotional wellbeing. Through the process of joining
the well-spring of happiness in my being, I will try to spread joy those around me.
