Role Overview

General overview of the role:

As an AWS Intern, you will collaborate with experienced Amazon Technicians to ensure that the Data
Centre’s mechanical, electrical and plumbing operates at 100% availability while maintaining first-
class customer service to the teams and groups within the data centres.
The Engineering Operations team is Amazon’s front-line responders for hands-on electrical and
mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operations. you will work with equipment that supports
mission-critical servers and must maintain better than 99.999% uptime. This equipment includes, but
is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators, switchgear, UPS’s, PDU’s, AHU’s, chillers, cooling
towers, chemical treatment systems, pumps, motors, VFD’s, and building automation systems.
Recruitment process:
There is only 1 stage viz; the panel stage. The panel stage involves 2 interviews only with members
of the hiring team; interviewing you individually.

assist you with the interview process. This would give enough time for you to prepare for the
interview. All the interviews at AWS are competency based on our Leadership Principles.

Requirements and preferences:
 Bachelor/Master’s Degree within a relevant field.
 certification from a Technical/Trade school program
 The applicant needs to be enrolled in any above program with the graduation date as
2023/2024

Career progression:
The role is a 12-week contract with AWS where in you will work with us full time during the summer
break. All the interviews at Amazon are based virtually, however, the role will require you to work
on-site full time. We intend to start in June/July 2023. This role will give you a lot of exposure in
following areas;
 Get insights into Amazon, AWS, and our engineering and security teams
 Benefit from flexible working days.
 Acquire/ further develop technical knowledge about the latest AWS technology.

and you will be paid every month. The team designs the total compensation as per your

What to expect in the interview stage:
The interview is largely focused on our leadership principles and it assess your professional skillsets,
background and qualification. The panel stage is the most important and the final stage of the
interview process. Hence, the recruitment team will work together with the candidates to help them
prepare for the interviews.
