Presentation – Benefits of volunteering

Hello, good morning. Today we are going to talk about the benefits of
volunteering.
Volunteering means being part of a group/movement that mobilizes a
large number of young people and adults throughout the world, being
an instrument of civil society participation in the most diverse areas of
activity. This practice is not restricted to the social field, but extends to
culture, education, justice, the environment, sport and other
dimensions of our daily lives and has been responding to questions
that continually emerge from the social, economic or political. For
example, there are nursing homes that are maintained solely by
donations and house economically vulnerable elderly people, without
family life and with chronic health problems.

Some of the benefits of the volunteering is gain experience, academic


and professional improvement like improve your knowledge and also
is an opportunity to put in practice things you have learned, provides a
sense of community and help you to feel connected to those you are
helping and, the most important, can help you be happier because
helping others brings good feelings and many others. Volunteering
allows you to impact and connect with your community, with
opportunities that fit a variety of interests.
It's important that educational institutions promote volunteering
activities, mediated and encouraged by the school and/or other public
and private organizations. It offers its students the opportunity to
actively participate in the construction of a more cohesive and
supportive society.
