PHASE 02 [Individual 40%]: [RE-THINK] DESIGN FOR WELL-BEING
[3 weeks]

Scenario: “Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities; make
cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. To enhance
inclusive and sustainable urbanization and capacity for participatory, integrated and
sustainable human settlement planning and management in all countries.”

CONFLUENCE OF COMMUNAL HUB FOR
RIDERS project in PHASE 2: [RE-THINK] DESIGN
FOR WELL-BEING is where the ideation of your
narrative space programming will be more
materialized & clearer in aspect of the 3D
views, sectional detail drawings and
materiality & services. In creating quality
spaces that the community benefitted for
their well-being and needs, it is also a
challenging on turning the existing site with
something new design that could solve
certain design intent with new elements.

Based on the conceptual idea chosen


creating the spaces as you can envision how
the possibility the users can experience the
space programming and intention for their
well-being thru the layout flow, functionality,
complexity among others. This project is to
rethink the spaces that influence the
neighboring environment expectations, their
cultural aspects, and sensitivity to their living
and working habits.

Tasks: Students are required to design and build the interior from the given site; Kelab Sultan Sulaiman,
Kampung Baru. Design conceptual & space programming are requisite to inherit from Phase 01
to progressively the layout floor plans. Execution must be shown in detail design process via
various mediums of art creatively in continuous of drawings,
3D digital modelling, photography, experimentation, narration
and in-depth research of the selected idea title.

Learning Outcome:

Based on the need of the selected subject matter, student to analyze the function of the
major and minor space for the interior, which requires range of activities, includes:

MAJOR SPACES
Related to your research & proposed space programming.

MINOR SPACES
Welcoming Entrance/Reception | Administration Area|Storage

Other than that, student have to look at all other aspects of comfort level in an interior
space such as lightings, ergonomics, building services, furniture, materiality and
environmental design/dynamics.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS [Individual Submission]:

(A) Presentation Boards


A0 size presentation boards (Portrait – x3 in total arranging horizontal) The content
consist of:
1. Briefed Site Introduction + Design Brief
2. Axonometric (exploded)
3. Layout Plans
4. Sectionals – x2 (long & short)
5. Interior perspectives view - minimum 8 views
6. Special detail

(B) Conceptual Model, Space Model


‘Major Space’. (Size to be determined).
