My Reflection on the Information Obtained From Social Worker

The social worker's treatment of the moral problem demonstrates a careful and impartial

approach. The social worker participated in open contact with the client and looked into alternate

solutions after realizing how difficult it was to combine protecting client confidentiality with

guaranteeing the safety of the person concerned. This strategy exhibits a profound regard for the

client's autonomy while actively preventing potential harm. By consulting with coworkers and

using the NASW Code of Ethics as a reference, the social worker demonstrates a commitment to

making ethical decisions. Discussions and seeking advice from dependable experts help to

clarify the moral quandary and identify potential courses of action. The social worker made sure

that their activities aligned with the social work profession's fundamental values, guiding

principles, and standards by referring to the NASW Code of Ethics.

If put in a similar circumstance, I would take an exact course of action. First, prioritize the

client's autonomy and right to confidentiality and open and honest communication. I would

aggressively assist the client in finding a solution that balances their desires and the necessity to

guarantee their well-being by outlining my worries for their safety and looking into alternate

choices. A thorough decision-making process would benefit from seeking out the opinions of

coworkers and superiors since they would offer a variety of viewpoints and ethical guidelines.

I would use the NASW Ethical Code as a critical reference to direct my judgment in this

circumstance. To respect professional standards, I base my decisions on the Code's tenets of

client autonomy, privacy, and safety. The reflective practice would also allow me to look at my

own values, prejudices, and presumptions to ensure they aren't unduly influencing how I make

decisions.

The NASW Ethical Code is the cornerstone of ethical social work practice. Necessary standards,

ideals, and values from the Code are applicable in this circumstance. Client autonomy is

emphasized by respect for individual worth and dignity (NASW Code of Ethics, 1.07). Social

workers support social justice, fight prejudice, and defend the weak (NASW Code of Ethics,

6.04). While considering their views and biases, they strive for professional competence (NASW

Code of Ethics, 1.04). These ethical principles help social workers strike a balance between

promoting social justice and their level of expertise while maintaining their clients' autonomy,

privacy, and safety.
