Relative Pronouns

Relative Pronouns are words that are used to


introduce relative clauses. These clauses provide
additional information about a noun or pronoun in a
sentence.

The most common relative pronouns in English


are:

1.Who: used to refer to people(subject of the


sentence or clause .
e.g:The teacher who teaches math is very kind.

2.Whom: used to refer to people as the object of the


sentence or clause.
e.g:The student whom I helped thanked me.

3.Which: used to refer to animals or things.


e.g:The book which I borrowed is fascinating.

4.That: used to refer to people, animals, or things.


e.g:The car that he drives is new.

5.Whose: used to indicate possession.
e.g:The boy whose dog ran away is sad.
