 Your reflection on the analysis and learning when you talked with your partner

about the portrait.


o While talking with my partners, I realize how different we see our language
in our body, I was the only one having three languages in the head. My
partners have theirs in their hands, legs, or even other part (wings). Our
reflection about the position of the language, made clear my way of see my
languages is very rational, it is structured and logic. That is why most of the
languages are in the head. The only languages that are not in my head are
the languages I learned out of classrooms or grammar rules. Spanish, first
language and learned naturally by context and environment, and Arabic
being learned just as speaking because the person I am dating.
 Your take-aways about the intersection between language, culture, and identity
and implications for your teaching.
o I truly believe, spanish is my identity language, I consider myself to be
closed to the switch-code theory than the translanguaging theory as a
language learner, that means when I am going to learn a language, I like to
assume I am changing something in my mind to let me use another
language in a proficient way. However, as a teacher, I consider myself as a
translanguaging Defensor, I encourage my students to use their first
language to help their second language acquisition, and sometimes I use
the first language as a bridge for understanding the second language.
