of the base of this equipment is a label that contains, among other
information, the FCC Registration Number and Ringer Equivalence
number (REN) for this equipment. You must, upon request, provide
this information to your telephone company. They may also ask you
for the Universal Order Code (USOC) which is RJ-11C.
The REN is useful to determine the quantity of devices you may connect
to your telephone line and still have all of those devices ring when
your telephone number is called. In most, but not all areas, the sum of
the RENs of all devices connected to one line should not exceed five
(5.0). To be certain of the number of devices you may connect to your
line, as determined by the REN, you should contact your local telephone
company to determine the maximum REN for your calling area.
If your telephone equipment causes harm to the telephone network,
the telephone company may discontinue your service temporarily. If
possible, they will notify you in advance. But if advance notice isnt
practical, you will be notified as soon as possible. You will be informed
of your right to file a complaint with the FCC.

operations or procedures that could affect the proper functioning of
your equipment. If they do, you will be notified in advance to give you
an opportunity to maintain uninterrupted telephone service. If you
experience trouble with this telephone equipment, disconnect from the
network until the problem has been corrected or until you are sure that
the equipment is not malfunctioning.
This equipment may not be used on coin service provided by the

by the party responsible for compliance could void the users authority
to operate the equipment.

limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC
Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection
against harmful interference in a residential installation. Some telephone
equipment operate at frequencies that may cause interference to nearby
TVs and VCRs; to minimize or prevent such interference, the base of
telephone equipment should not be placed near or on top of a TV or
VCR; and, if interference is experienced, moving the telephone
equipment farther away from the TV or VCR will often reduce or
eliminate the interference. However there is no guarantee that
interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment
does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which
can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is
encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the
following measures:

Automatic 911
Model 700C gives you the option to add Automatic 911 for
Emergency 1 (E1) only . Moving the 911 switch to the ON position
will automatically dial 911 first for Emergency 1 (E1) emergency,
followed by the telephone no.(s) stored in memory for E1. We suggest
that at least 1 additional telephone number be entered into memory for
Emergency 1. If no telephone no. is entered, 911 will be dialed one
time after activation of Emergency 1 (E1). Moving the 911 switch
to OFF position will keep Automatic 911 off.
NOTE: Check with your local 911 service to verify the use of
Automatic 911 in your area.
Emergency Dialing/Audible Alert
This feature allows user to know when the system is working and what
it is doing. The speaker (SPKR) needs to be in ON position. If any
Emergency button or the large button on the wireless help pendant are
pressed for one second, (wireless pendant must be within range of the
Model 700C) 3 BEEPS will be heard, notifying you that an Emergency
button has been pressed and system is activated. Then, if all phones
are On Hook, dial tone will be heard followed by dialing out up to 5
telephone numbers you entered. For Emergency 1 you can add
Automatic 911 to be dialed first. You need a tone-dialing service on
telephone line the 700C is connected to. You will hear 3 BEEPS before
each telephone number is dialed. If called telephone number is busy,
or if a called party's telephone rings 5 times and is not picked up, the
Model 700C goes to the next telephone number. The calls placed will
be in the sequence you selected. Each time the called party's telephone
rings, the beginning of the emergency message is heard. After the
telephone call is answered, the full emergency message, instructional
announcement followed by a BEEPTONE are sent. Called party should
listen to caller if they are able and near 700C unit (see Automatic
Speakerphone on Page 11 of this manual for more details). After the
called party hears 2 beeps on their touch-tone service telephone, they
can acknowledge they are getting you help by pressing "8" and you
will hear 4 Beeps if tel # has been dialed one time followed by 5 Beeps
after all the tel #s for that emergency type have been dialed at least
once. Pressing "7" instead of "8" will stop additional #s from being
dialed. Pressing "3" allows you to speak for 15 seconds before call is
disconnected. Your Model 700C will continue dialing all telephone
numbers excluding Automatic 911 for approximately 15 minutes
unless a called party responds with an 8 from their touch-tone service
telephone. The unit will dial all telephone numbers one time even if
time exceeds 15 minutes. If the 8 has been depressed, all entered
telephone numbers for that emergency or situation will be dialed one
time. At any time the caller can stop emergency dialing by pressing
STOP button on unit or STOP on pendant (small button on
pendant) or ANY CALLED PARTY CAN STOP THE
EMERGENCY DIALING BY PRESSING 7 ON THEIR
TELEPHONE AFTER HEARING THE EMERGENCY
MESSAGE AND INSTRUCTIONS. NOTE: If a called party does
not have touch-tone service, they need to use a phone that has a tone-
pulse switch to use the above features. The system requires tones to
respond. However, even without tone service they will be able to receive
the emergency information message and speak.
Controlled Speakerphone
The Speakerphone is an optional comfort feature that is operated by
the called party and works if the caller is in the vicinity of the base unit.
This features primary function is to simply allow the called party to
VERBALLY communicate to the caller that help is on the way. These
features will only work after beep tone is heard at the end of the party's
instructional announcement. It should be noted that this feature is
already accomplished nonverbally by pressing 8 after the tone is
heard. However, it is often comforting to both caller and called party
to have some verbal communication with each other if possible. After
the beep tone is heard, called party can hear caller if they are near
"700C" and are able to speak. Called party can respond after hearing 2
beeps by speaking and pressing "7" or "8" as above within 15 seconds
before call is disconnected. Each press of "3" after 1 Beep or 2 Beeps
will allow 15 seconds of listening/speaking before disconnecting call.
Pressing "9" repeats emergency message. (NOTE: The enclosed cards
should be distributed to each person who "700C" will call in an
emergency.
Help Pendant (Wireless)
The Model 700C comes with a wireless Help Pendant , that can be
worn around the neck. This Help Pendant can typically activate
Emergency 1 which we suggest be used for medical situations, by
pressing larger button on the pendant. (You can maximize the range
by turning the antenna to a vertical position). Pressing this larger button
(for 1 second and releasing), functions the same as pressing the
Emergency 1 button on the unit. Remember, the help pendant only
works with Emergency 1. The pendant also has a small button which
is used to Stop (cancel) any transmission over the telephone line (the
same as pressing the STOP button on the unit).
NOTE: It is important you record your Identifying Number, located
on the back of your pendant in case pendant is lost or damaged.
System ON/OFF
The Power ON/OFF switch should be moved to OFF position when
user is not at home. (Power light still remains on). When at home,
move Power ON/OFF switch to ON. Power is required to be ON for
unit to work.
Power Lights
There are 2 lights on front panel. The Power Light (red) should be ON
at all times, except during power failures. The Battery (BATT LO)
green light, when lit, indicates there is no battery installed or the battery
voltage is low. It is important that battery is installed and green light is
off, so that Model 700C will function properly and during short term
power failures.
