and ready for the return of the Nike Air Branding. Of
course, the Nike Air Jordan III is iconic for many
reasons. It was one of the first sneakers to feature
the famed Elephant Print. Back in 1988, the Air
Jordan III was presented to Michael Jordan by Tinker
Hatfield and was an important piece in convincing
MJ to stay with Nike. The White Cement AJ3 became
legendary thanks to Michael Jordan winning the NBA
Slam Dunk Contest in them by jumping from the free
throw line. The dunk is one of the most famous
Michael Jordan images of all time. 25 years later,
down to the minute, Nike celebrated the most iconic
slam dunk of all time by releasing the White Cement
Jordan III "88" complete with Nike Air on the heel.
The Air Jordan Retro 3 88 White Cement released for
$200 at 4:51 EST on February 6th, 2013. It became
one of the most talked about releases of all time and
sold out instantly. A month later the Retro 3 88
released in Asia and subsequently restocked at
various retailers a number of times over the 18
months that followed but remains a highly sought
after sneaker.
