ABSTRAK

Orlisius Gonsaga Rasima Asang, 20.75.6887. The Church's View on Interreligious Fraternity
in the Light of Fratelli Tutti's Encyclical. Thesis. Undergraduate Program, Catholic Philosophy
of Religion Study Program, Ledalero Institute of Philosophy and Creative Technology, 2024.
The writing of this thesis aims to first, explain the role of the encyclical Fratelli Tutti in
building interfaith brotherhood. Second, explain what Fratelli Tutti's encyclical is. Third, explain
what interfaith brotherhood is and the values contained in Fratelli Tutti's encyclical in building
interfaith brotherhood.
In working on this thesis, the author uses the literature method, namely skunder data
analysis. In the process of analyzing skunder data, the author collected data and studied books
that discussed interreligious brotherhood and the values contained in the encyclical Fratelli Tutti
as the Church's response in building interreligious brotherhood. In addition to books, the author
also seeks data and ideas related to the concept of interfaith brotherhood through other literature
such as Church documents, journals, articles, magazines and internet sources. As a complement
to this paper, the author uses the Ecclesiastical Document Series No. 124 on Fratelli Tutti as the
primary source.
The author analyzes the Church's view of interfaith brotherhood in Fratelli Tutti’s
encyclical. Did Fratelli Tutti's encyclical play an important role in building interfaith
brotherhood? This study and analysis shows that Fratelli Tutti's encyclical has an important role
in building brotherhood between religious communities. Fratelli Tutti contains the basic values
that must be developed by Christians in building interfaith brotherhood, namely universal
brotherhood, love, and solidarity as well as freedom and responsibility of Christians to build
brotherhood in multicultural groups.
