KAVYANAAD

Akshar, the multilingual literary society of Banaras Hindu

University, proudly presents Kavyanaad 2.0, a multilingual inter-
university online poetry recitation competition. With an
interpretation of ‘symphony of poetry’, Kavyanaad is its beautiful
name with ‘Kavya’ meaning poetry and ‘Naad’ indicating sound.
This provocative title beautifully sums up the harmonious and
melodious sound of poetry in multiple languages and cultures
bringing together a cluster of various voices and expressions.

This year we are back with even more vigour and excitement. The
objective is to celebrate the rich cultural heritage and linguistic
diversity inherent within our universities, as well as beyond
their limits. Kavyanaad 2.0 intends to create a platform for
emerging poets who want to show their original works as well as
for those interested in sharing their individual perspectives with
others.

In reflecting true multilingualism, participants from different

universities will assemble on this virtual platform where they will
read out self composed poems either in English or Hindi. The event
is more than a mere contest but instead it’s an homage to artistic
expression and cultural solidarity. Come join us in this festival of
literature where words come alive and voices echo in our hearts.
