Door Opening Alarm Using Hall Sensor: Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
PROJECT PRESENTATION
INTRODUCTION :
WORKING :
• Hall Effect Sensor : Operates on principle of Hall effect , where voltage
difference is produced across an electrical conductor , transverse to an electric
current in the conductor and a magnetic field perpendicular to current.
• Magnet Placement : The magnet is placed on the door such that when the door
is closed , the magnet aligns with the hall sensor , creating a magnetic field
detectable by sensor .
• Sensor output : When the door is closed , the sensor detects the magnetic field
and outputs a high or low signal . When the door is open , the magnetic field is
absent , and the output state changes.
APPLICATIONS :
• Home Security : Detects if doors/windows are open or closed.
DISADVANTAGES :
1. Magnet Alignment
2. Limited range
3. Dependent on Power Supply
CONCLUSION :
• In conclusion , implementing a door status sensor using a hall effect sensor and a magnet
is a practical and effective solution for various applications , including home security and
automated systems.
• Its contactless nature ensures durability and reliability .
• Careful alignment and consideration of magnetic interference are essential for optimal
performance.
• This project offers a robust and low-power method to monitor door status effectively
