INTRODUCTION :

▪ A door hall sensor using a magnet is a type of contactless sensor used to

detect the open or closed status of door.
▪ This project involves creating a door status sensor using a Hall effect
sensor and a magnet.
▪ By detecting the presence of a magnetic field , the system determines if the
door is open or closed, triggering actions such as turning on a LED or
sending notifications through a microcontroller like arduino.
▪ This projects provides a simple yet effective way to monitor door status
using a Hall sensor and a magnet.

WORKING :
• Hall Effect Sensor : Operates on principle of Hall effect , where voltage
difference is produced across an electrical conductor , transverse to an electric
current in the conductor and a magnetic field perpendicular to current.

• Magnet Placement : The magnet is placed on the door such that when the door
is closed , the magnet aligns with the hall sensor , creating a magnetic field
detectable by sensor .

• Sensor output : When the door is closed , the sensor detects the magnetic field
and outputs a high or low signal . When the door is open , the magnetic field is
absent , and the output state changes.

APPLICATIONS :
• Home Security : Detects if doors/windows are open or closed.

• Automated lighting : Turn lights on/off based on door status.

• Access Control : Accessing the entries and exits through doors.
