The given lines graph reveal the proportion of the spending of UK residents on visits abroad between

1993 and 2013. The data collected was in terms of billions euros and it is categorized into Going on
Holiday, Doing Business, Visiting friends or relatives. Overall, all the figures followed a similar rising
pattern over the period surveyed.

In particular, as it is evident from the line graph, in 1993, the figure for Going on Holiday started off at 9
billions euros. Thereafter, it increased rapidly to 12 billions euros in 1998, followed by a surge to reach
its peak a 25 billions euros, which was the highest of the total in 2008, before a substantial drop to 22
bilions in 2008. Eventually, the figure rose to 23 billions euros with dramatic fluctuations on its path
since 2009.

As for the others, in 1993, the figures for Doing Business was 1 billions euros higher than that for Visiting
friends or relatives, proved by 2 billions euros over 1 billions euros, respectively. Next, the figure for
Doing Business increased steeply to reach its peak at 5.5 billions euros in 2008, preceding a drop to 4.5
billions euros in 2009, before remaining stable until 2013. Meanwhile, the rate for Visiting friends and
relatives rose enormously to 5 billions euros in 2008, before remaining unchanged until the end of the
time frame denoted, 2013.

Generally, the figure for Going on Holiday was on top in 1993, and was still the most dominating in 2013.
