This tutorial will use a combina on of a Deswik.CAD file and a Deswik.

Scheduler template to prac ce the various


exercises on.
The IS runs as a plugin to Deswik.CAD. It can be started from the Main menu each me it is required or alterna vely
started each me Deswik.CAD is opened. The following steps will guide the opening of the Deswik.CAD project, loading
of the IS and some basic naviga on ps to get started.
The Deswik.Scheduler template file is referenced during the IS setup process and also opened via the IS.
Set up the ini al startup files by;
1. Opening a new/blank Deswik.CAD document by either;
a. Selec ng Deswik.CAD 4.0 from the Windows Start menu.

or
b. Selec ng from the desktop.

It’s recommended a specific folder be created to save the Deswik.CAD and Scheduler files that will be used during this
tutorial. To preserve the ini al files provided with the tutorial, take a copy of the star ng *.vdcl CAD file and the * .dsf
Scheduler file, paste them in separate loca on and rename the files.
4.1. LOADING THE INTERACTIVE SCHEDULER
Loading the IS can be done either via manual start up or automa cally on Deswik.CAD startup.
4.1.1. IS MANUAL START UP
The IS plugin can be launched manually a er Deswik.CAD loads.
From the Deswik.CAD Main menu, run the Tools | Interac ve Scheduler command. 12 | P a g e
The Interac ve Scheduler dock window displays. By default, this window is docked in the same loca on as the Layer
Control window.
4.1.2. IS AUTO START UP
The IS plugin can be set from the Plugin Manager to restart each me Deswik.CAD is loaded.
To set the IS plugin to load automa cally on startup;
1. From the Main menu, run the Tools | Plugin Manager command.

If the plugin has been loaded previously through the Main Menu, it will be listed in the Plugin Manager, simply click the
bu on.
2. From the Plugin Manager dialog box, click and navigate to the following file path;

C:\Program Files\Deswik 4.0\Deswik.Interac veScheduler.dll and click 13 | P a g e


The file path above refers to Deswik So ware v4.0, if you are running a different version of Deswik So ware, ensure you
navigate to the relevant directory i.e. if you are s ll running Deswik So ware v3.3, navigate to; C:\Program Files\Deswik
3.3\Deswik.Interac veScheduler.dll.
3. Highlight Deswik.Interac ve Scheduler from the Plugins panel.
4. Select the Load on Applica on Startup checkbox to have the plugin open on star ng Deswik.CAD.
5. Select the Restore Plugin Dock Posi on checkbox and click

6. A er loading the IS, click the File | Open bu on.


7. From the presented Windows explorer screen, navigate to the 4.03 IS for UG Metals v4.0 Data Sets folder and select
the 4.03 IS for UG Metals v4.0 CAD Project file.

8. Click to load the star ng Deswik.CAD file.

5. VIEWING THE BLOCK MODEL
The 4.03 IS for UG Metals v4.0 Block Model can be viewed as slices through the Working Plane. Before viewing the
Block Model, Legends and Filters should be created to assist with viewing the data.
5.1. CREATE GLOBAL CONSTANTS
Global constants can be created to allow material classifica on grades to be changed in one central loca on.
To create global constants;
1. From the Main menu, run the Edit | Global Constants command.
2. From the presented Global Constants dialog box, enter the following se ngs and click

5.2. CREATE MATERIAL CLASSIFICATION FILTERS


Filters can be created for the various grade bins that reference the global constants.
To create filters;
1. Click Edit | Filters | Edit from the shortcut toolbar.

2. From the presented Filters dialog box, click to add a new save.

3. Enter UG_HG in the New Filters Name field and click

4. Click to add a row to the grid and enter the following se ngs;

When referencing a global constant it must be enclosed by brackets to be interpreted correctly i.e. {UG_HG}.
5. Repeat the process to create the following Filters;
FILTER NAME FIELD VALUES OPERAND VALUE AND\OR
UG_LG AU < {UG_MG} And
AU >= {UG_LG} And
UG_MG AU < {UG_HG} And
AU >= {UG_MG} And
UG_ORE AU >= {UG_LG} And
UG_WST AU < {UG_LG} And
