The question paper has seven questions. The candidate must attend only five of them. All the questions
has equal marks

Question 1. Interpret the concept of Identical particles. What is difference between bosons 14 Marks
and fermions?

Question 2. State the conditions for the validity of Born Approximation for scattering. 14 Marks

Question 3. What is harmonic perturbation? Calculate transition probability per unit 14 Marks
radiation of intensity of a harmonic perturbation.

Question 4. Show that the Born scattering amplitude is proportional to the spatial Fourier 14 Marks
transform of the scattering potential with respect to the momentum transfer.

Question 5. Construct symmetric and antisymmetric wave- function for two – electron 14 Marks
atoms.

Question 6. Show that stark effect in ground state of hydrogen atom is zero. 14 Marks

Question 7. Obtain the relation between scattering angles in laboratory frame and centre of 14 Marks
mass frame.
