The Titanic
The Titanic was a huge, fancy ship that started its first trip in 1912. People from
different places were on board – some were rich, and others wanted to begin a new life
in America.
The Titanic was super fancy. It had cool stuff like a swimming pool, a gym, and a library.

While the Titanic sailed, it hit a big piece of ice in the ocean on April 14, 1912. This made
a hole in the ship, and even though the crew tried really hard to save everyone, the
Titanic sank. There weren’t enough lifeboats on the Titanic for everyone. That made it
hard for people to escape. Sadly, more than 1,500 people lost their lives. Some people
were heroes and helped others get on lifeboats. “Women and children first” was the rule.

The Titanic sinking made the whole world sad and worried. People couldn't believe that
a ship, especially one they thought couldn't sink, could have such a bad ending. After
this, they changed the rules for how ships should be safer. They made sure ships had
more lifeboats, better ways to talk to each other, and paid more attention to icy waters.
The Titanic sinking inspired many books, movies, and stories. The most famous movie is
“Titanic” by James Cameron.
The stories of the people on the Titanic, their dreams, and the sad ending became
famous. People talk about it in books, movies, and shows. The Titanic's story reminds us
that sometimes, even when we think everything is okay, things can go wrong.
