SHOULD POLITICS BE SUBJECTIVE OR OBJECTIVE?

Politics is the collection of actions related to group decision-making and various types of
power dynamics between people, like the allocation of resources or positions in society.
Everybody and everything compete for control and influence in this never-ending game of
manipulation and power. Persuading individuals to endorse your goal against their better
judgment is the art of this skill. Persuasion and compromise are the fundamental components
of politics. Together, we may accomplish a greater good by attempting to establish common
ground with others who have differing opinions. However, it turns into a battlefield for
philosophies and selfish interests much too frequently. That is why, I believe that politics
should be subjective; it should be based on people’s ideologies and behavior than mere
objectivity.
Choices have costs and those costs are subjective to the individual making the choice
(Buchanan 1969). Furthermore, given that the economic and political spheres of activity are
entangled, individuals must make choices both about the goods and services they consume
and the institutional framework in which those exchanges occur (Smith et al. 2011; Wagner
2014; Wagner 2016). Thus, the idea of politics from a holistic viewpoint is something that the
government should take into consideration. As the political environment affects the major
stakeholders of a country which is the people itself, the majority of our voices and ideas
should be heard and their actions must be witnessed. Our personal opinions might help the
government to improve its way of governance because it will solely affect all the people,
especially the marginalized.
Subjective perspectives come from individual beliefs, feelings, and experiences, while
objective perspectives are grounded in information, analysis, and reason. For a more precise
and impartial understanding of political phenomena, political discourse should distinguish
between the two and give priority to objective analysis. Because political issues are so
complex, achieving total neutrality in politics can be difficult. Nonetheless, objective
viewpoints that are as impartial and fact-based as feasible are appreciated for their capacity to
offer an honest and open comprehension of political matters. However, to find balance and
avoid biases, we should always remember that we should not only base only on sole
objectiveness with high standard criteria; we must also set the demands of people who are
the common beneficiaries of what the political government proposes. As a young endeavor,
I’ve noticed that the remnants of the people who voice out for their rights were ignored. I
believe that everyone has freedom, though limited, is still a right that should be exercised as a
commoner in society. It would not harm the government; thus, it will help them improve the
quality of their governance, their governing services, and how would they look at people
without bias. As we advance to a more developed country, we must consider the opinions of
people on what are their perceptions and what they think would be the best for the sake of
the many.
