Seasonal Regiment
of living that you should implement into your own life, as proper
conduct to heal the body and mind. this regiment is in addition to any
other regiment aproved by the sages unless contradicting. then if it
does contradict this regiment should be prioritized as its judging based
on time weather results or it should be used to factor in a compromise
in the case of neccesity .This is from the Asthanga Hridayam by
Vaghbhata
After Bathing, Massage the body with Oils that balance the wind especially on the
scalp and forehead:
Castor Oil
Mustard Oil
Vibhitaka Oil
Overall give mild massages to the self, wrestling is beneficial for health during this
time
Wear socks
Due to the increase of the phlegm humour, one should participate in correctly
guided Emesis therapy, Nasya Therapy, Exercise, Dry massage, Trampling and such
eating year old barley, Wheat , Honey, desert animal meat and fire roasted meat.
Drink water mixed with honey or water Boiled (the honey water should not be
boiled) with nut grass
And enjoy various wines drank according to the proper regiment for health if you
will so.
Spend the miday the engaged in fun sports activities, storytelling, conversations
and the such avoiding sunlight (unless you live somewhere above 35 degree
latitude)
Avoid Food that is fatty sour and sweet and avoid sleeping during the day (unless
you truly desire to do such sleeping)
Avoid use of salt, pungent and spicy foods, sourf foods, intense exercise and
exposure to intense sunlight (beyond adapted and pleasurable exposure)
Sweet, light, fatty, cold food should be taken, keep well hydrated, cornflour mixed
cold water and sugar (assuming this is cooked cornflour in the form of flatbread
mixed with sugar, and with it is drank cold water) after a colder than usual bath or
shower
Avoid Alcohol
During summer, boiled rice, which is white in colour, (like full moon) should be
eaten along withmeat of animals of desert.Meat juice (Mamsarasa) which is not
very thick .Rasala (curds churned and mixed with pepper powder and sugar),Raga
(syrup which is sweet, sour and salty) andKhandava (syrup which has all the
tastes, prepared with many substances),Panaka panchasara, (syrup prepared with
raisins (draksha), madhuka, dates (karjura), kasmarya,and parushaka fruits all in
equal quantities, cooled and added with powder of cinnamon leaves,cinnamon
and cardamom etc) and kept inside a fresh mud pot, along with leaves of plantain
andcoconut trees, and made sour (fermented) should be drunk in mugs of mud or
shell;Very cool water kept in mud pot along with flowers of patala and karpura
(camphor) should beused for drinking. Food articles like sasanka kirana (hollow,
finger-like, fried pastry made of corn flour) should betaken at night;Buffalo milk
mixed with sugar and cooled by moonlight and the stars should be used
fordrinking.
During the day spend time in the shade with sweet scented fragrance (natural),
lay down on a bed of flowers, enjoy some AC or cooling options
And during the Night, sleep outside/the terrace if possible, apply sandlewood
paste, avoid copulation (once every 2 weeks is the preffered timing), wear light
thin clothing, Enjoy leave fans and talk with beatiful women and nice people
Employ fasting and digestive tonics , herbs and practices because the fire of
digestion is weak during this time
Eat old grains, Spice marinated meat, desert animal meat, Pulse soups, Grape
WInes and herbal Liqours
on days of no sunlight eat sour salty and unctous food, dry and light food, One
should also eat honey, (eat honey as long as its raw, cold outside, spaced 2 hours
between a meal etc).
Avoid walking outside as opposed to using transport, One should use perfumes
(natural) and dwell in colder places
Avoid River water, udamantha which is a bevarge of corn and ghee, sleeping at
daytime and exertion and sunlight.
Try medicated ghee, Purgation (laxative therapies, and blood letting at apropriate
and well advised times according to a phsyician of ayuveda or any natural holistic
therapies .

Final Note: in periods a week inbetween each season the regiment should be
"mixed"
