BPMN Consultant – Banking Sector

Overview:
• The successful candidate will have a great deal of autonomy, will interact regularly and
intensively with many stakeholders and subject matter experts across the client’s Bank,
and will over time be exposed to a wide variety of operational teams, processes,
problems and domains.
• By doing so, the successful candidate will fast-track (1) the development of her/his
knowledge of the different EB E2E services and processes, and the people supporting
these, as well as (2) develop his skills in process modelling (through BPMN), process
improvement (through various techniques) and change management.
• Because the development of this knowledge and skills will actively be supported, no
candidate is expected to have all the qualifications as described below. It is more
important to have the capability and the eagerness to learn quickly, experiment and
having the right mindset of combining diligent analysis with a desire to step outside of
your comfort zone. Similarly, this role can be taken up on a permanent basis, allowing
to evolve and grow further within the E2E Value Chains team, or an a temporary basis,
allowing to go back to the area you came from and put your newly acquired skills there
at work.
• This role will have the following responsibilities:
o You take the lead (in an empowering manner) in the delivery of streams within
various types of engagements, such as for instance (1) The analysis and
implementation of specific end-to-end waves to improve business processes,
and/or (2) the analysis, definition and set-up of new capabilities that can be
used in those waves.
o The complexity of the above resides in the nature of the problems encountered,
the number and seniority of people involved, and the energy and skills required
to bring the people on-board, find pragmatic solutions, assure buy-in and make
them stick.
o In such streams the Engagement Manager/Process Designer will take
responsibility to document and analyse the current situation, to scope and
diagnose problems, design together with the business team a set of solutions,
prioritise them in an implementation plan, and implement them with a strong
focus on change management to ensure the sustainability. All the above is
being done as part of an Agile team involving typically also the business teams,
IT and/or citizen developers.
o You are the specialist in the team on how to process modelling, the
methodology (BPMN) and tool (Adonis) used for this, and modern process
improvement techniques (from Lean to EOA, ABO, etc), and you coach, train
and support your team members to do all the above in an efficient and effective
manner. (Please note that training for yourself will be foreseen so you can take
up this role)
o You are expected to demonstrate strong leadership that leads to tangible
results, and to have sufficient empathy to understand the concerns/constraints
of people on the field. You must translate both into a strong change
management to assure obtaining the targeted benefits.
• Overall, you must feel ownership for implementing a continuous improvement culture
and achieving operational excellence. Therefore, you should role model the CI mindset,
tools and principles.

Qualifications:
• Master’s degree or equivalent experience, advanced degree or professional designation
preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years business experience, ideally including a mix of project and change
management, and of consulting and line management.
• A good knowledge of the client’s Bank business.
• Outstanding English communication/presentation skills and influencing/negotiation
skills.
• Ability to travel in the locations of the group (as required).
• An affinity with new technologies and interest in innovation is a definite plus.
• Natural curiosity about a wide variety of subjects, well-read, in touch with the next big
thing and comfortable to discuss it with peers. Enthusiastic about stepping out of
his/her comfort zone and experiment
• Proven knowledge of Lean/Agile principles and consultancy/process improvement
techniques and methodologies, and an eagerness and capability to learn quickly.
• True consultant in the way to approach problems. Unique ability to understand the
clients’ expectations, to diagnose, to problem solve and define solutions.
• Clear and structured communicator, who also pays attention to the way in which all
communication is formalized (both verbal and written)
• Passionate about working together, people development and building skills of people
by coaching them on the job.
• Hands-on, believes in role modelling and leading from the front.
• Drive and energy, strong entrepreneurship, creates enthusiasm.
