With an emphasis on how humans affect the environment, environmental science is an

interdisciplinary study that brings together information, biological, and physical science.
Conversely, ethics is the study of good and bad, or morally correct and wrong. It
comprises a systematic study of the moral principles and ideals that guide people's
decisions and behaviors. With these definitions, ethics is being studied in environmental
science to have a better and full understanding of human behaviors and relate it to the
current conditions of the world and will be able to resolve problems through successful
decision-making.

For example, one of the current conditions that we are experiencing right now is climate
change. Human activities like industrialization, pollution, deforestation, and others are
the main causes of climate change, as we all know. Through ethics, government
decisions about laws, programs, and regulations, such as the Clean Air Act (RA 8749)
and the Clean Water Act of 2004 (RA 9275), will be implemented to lessen the effects of
climate change.
Another example is the ethical treatment of animals and ecosystems. Ethics contributes
to the development of rules governing the human treatment of animals and the
conservation of ecosystems. Animals are put into their natural habitat since it is what
morally right is and conserving their ecosystems through research to make the
ecosystems more sustainable for the animals.
