and conjunction: used to join two words or parts of sentences


Ali and Ahmed are students.
angry adjective: feeling or showing anger
Ali is not happy. He is angry.
bye exclamation: goodbye
Ahmed: Good-bye, Ali!
Ali: Bye!
cold adjective: something that is cold has a low temperature
It’s not hot. It’s cold.
happy adjective: feeling pleased and cheerful
He’s not sad. He’s happy.
hi exclamation: hello
Ahmed: Hello, Ali!
Ali: Hi!
hot adjective: having a high temperature
It’s not cold. It’s hot.
hundred noun: a number.
The tree was probably a hundred years old.
people noun: men, women, or children. “People” is the usual plural of
“person.” I like the people I work with.
person Noun: a man, woman, or child
Dan was the first person I met when I arrived.
let’s verb: contraction of the words “let” and “us”
Let’s go to Riyadh.
hungry adjective: Ill or weak as a result of not having enough to eat for a long
time. I'm getting hungry, let's eat!
Miss noun: used in front of the name of a girl or a woman who is not married
The young girl is Miss Al Enazi.
Mr. noun: a title used before a man's family name
The man’s name is Mr. Al Enazi.
Mrs. noun: a title used before a married woman's family name
The woman’s name is Mrs. Al Enazi.
Ms noun: a title used before the family name of a married or unmarried
woman
The woman’s name is Ms Smith.
now adverb: at the present time
The man is eating now.
old adjective: someone or something that has lived or existed for a long
time
He is not young. He’s old.
or conjunction: used between two possibilities, or before the last in a series
of possibilities
Do you want an apple or an orange.
sad adjective: unhappy, especially because something unpleasant has
happened. He’s not happy. He’s sad.
short adjective: not very tall
Ali is a short fat man.
tall adjective: a tall person, building, tree etc is a greater height than normal
She's only five feet tall.
toast noun: bread that has been heated until it is brown
Would you like some butter on your toast?
syllable noun: a part of a word that contains a single vowel sound. ’Cat’ has one
syllable, and ’butter’ has two.
sick adjective: to feel ill in your stomach and as if you might vomit
He’s in the hospital. He’s sick.
tired adjective: feeling that you want to sleep or rest
He is tired.
too adverb: also
I have a car. I have a truck, too.
very adverb: more than is acceptable or possible
He is very sick. He’s in the hospital.
well adverb: a man or boy who has the same parents as you
He’s not sick. He’s well.
young adjective: a man or boy who has the same parents as you
He’s not old. He’s young.
alphabet noun: a set of letters that are used when writing a language
I know the alphabet. It’s ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ.
boy noun: more than is acceptable or possible
Ali is a boy. Fatima is a girl.
brother noun: a man or boy who has the same parents as you
My brother is Mohammed.
child noun: a young person who is not yet an adult
He’s very young. He’s a child.
children noun: plural form of the above (child)
They are very young. They are children.
consonant noun: any letter of the English alphabet except a, e, i, o, and u
The letter “C” is not a vowel. It’s a consonant.
dad noun: informal word for “father”
My father is Dad. My mother is Mom.
family noun: a group of people who are related to each other, especially
parents and their children
My father, mother, brother, and sister are my family.
father noun: a male parent
My father is a man. My mother is a woman.
friend noun: someone that you know well and enjoy spending time with
Ali is my friend.
girl noun: a female child:
My sister is a girl.
man noun: an adult male person
My father is a man.
men noun: plural form of men
My father and my teacher are men.
mother noun: female parent, or any woman who is a parent
My mother is a woman.:
sister noun: a girl or woman who has the same parents as you
My sister is a girl.
vowel noun
There are five vowels. A, E, I, O, U.
woman noun: an adult female person
My mother is a woman.
women noun: the plural form of “woman”
My mother and my grandmother are women.
