Benjamin Patterson hostelry , also known as Jenning 's tap house , is a historic hostel and
tavern located in Corning in Steuben County , New York .It is a two-story , ell forge frame
construction in the Fed style .Built in 1796 , it is the sure-enough frame building in the area
and perhaps all of Baron Friedrich Wilhelm Ludolf Gerhard Augustin von Steuben County .It
was listed on the National registry of Historic Places in 1973 .The Benjamin Patterson hostel
is a historic house operated as share of the Heritage Village of the Southern Finger Lakes by
the Corning Painted berth Historical gild .Visitors can tour the historic tap house room ,
dining elbow room , kitchen , node quarters and innkeeper 's living quarters , and view the
company 's collection of material equipment in the foresightful way .The Inn earth also
include an 1855 logarithm cabin , an 1878 schoolhouse , a barn with agriculture tool and
equipment and a working later 19th-century blacksmith shop .The gild also operates the
Painted Post-Erwin Museum , a museum of local history located in a former 19th-century
