An all-in-one package for labelling

From the consultation phase through to project completion, we take a systematic approach to our

Step 1:
PROJECT PLANNING
Our staff surveys and evaluates the specific tasks to be done on
site, thus laying the groundwork for the project’s realization. In this
way, material types, quantities, sign texts and installation locations
can be precisely determined and, if desired, coordinated with you. In
the event of missing or faulty plans, we will check and draw up new
documents for you so that your project can get off to an effective start.
Step 2:
PRODUCTION
In accordance with your specifications, high quality sign production
is carried out at the Bocholt site. It is flexibly coordinated with the
project plan and adjusted where required. In addition, we have a
well-equipped warehouse to support the project’s realization with
standardized signs and fastening materials.
Step 3:
INSTALLATION

A brief description of our build types
LuxoLED® substructure
Our standard LuxoLED® for all IP protec-
tion classes (IP 20/IP 44/IP 67). You
can choose between different materials
(V2A/V4A) and surfaces (brushed/
polished/powder coated) to align with
visual requirements. All individual parts
of the LuxoLED® substructure variant are
already assembled when delivered and
only have to be screwed to the ceiling
from below at the intended on-site

Pipe marking
On ships, pipes are labelled according to ISO 14726 in order to identify what they contain and
thereby create a safe working environment and prevent confusion. The colour code can be
supplemented by the flow direction indicator or arrow marks directly integrated in the design of the
label. The self-adhesive foils are available as single-colour and multi-colour options, and need to
be selected depending on the respective operating medium in the pipe. The standardized colour
combinations are in the tables on the following pages.

Sign books
In the run-up to or after the successful completion of a project, it is often useful to summarize the signs used and their technical design
(e.g. material, production process, exact colour shade or installation point) in a complete documentation. Our sign books include all these
important aspects and thus support targeted communication between the shipping company, the shipyard and us as the manufacturer.
A sign book is already useful in the planning phase: it helps specify ideas and the signs’ exact design with the architects, designers
and customers on the basis of concrete images and examples. Afterwards, the documentation in the sign book is also often used for
repeat orders over the course of a ship’s entire life cycle so that the strong impact and good appearance of the labelling and signage is
maintained.

Mimic Signs – Emergency Instructions – Information placard

Plenty of terms, but usually just one solution. The emergency instructions –
often referred to as “You are here” plans – clearly show passengers where
they are on board and how to reach their assembly point via the primary or
secondary escape route. In addition, the plans contain essential information
on e.g. the following: what to do in the event of an alarm; the alarm signals
and sounds that are emitted; how to use the life jackets; and the safety
guidance system on board.

Installation plans
As part of the project planning process, we offer you the
option of having a target-performance comparison carried
out. We can also re-record your labelling and signage. Our
expert staff will record all the signs at your site and note
any labels that are still missing or need to be adapted. We
then draw up sign positioning and installation plans for
you – layout and appropriate fitting options included. You
can use the plans for either us or your own employees to
carry out the installation, for documentation purposes or for
further labelling-related planning.
Low location lighting plan

Using the existing fire and/or safety plans that define the
escape routes as a reference, we draw up a layout plan for
the installation of the low location lighting system. The LLL
plan complies with ISO 15370 requirements and can be
used as a basis for approval by the classification society.
As a rule, the LLL plan comes with an installation guideline
that we prepare for you. This guideline presents and explains
in greater detail the special features of the installation that
are to be considered. If the low location lighting system had
been installed by us, we subsequently adapt the LLL plan
to the actual installation arrangement and thus provide you
with an “as built” documentation for future use.

Shipboard plans
Printing service / finishing formats

After completing our work, we hand over the plans to you as digital
documentation on a data carrier in the desired file format (supported
file formats are *.PDF, *.DWG, *.DXF). You can of course also use
the printing and plotting service if you like. This includes multi-colour
printing, formats from DIN A4 to DIN A0 as well as special formats
on customer request, plots with a photoluminescent design (e.g. for
escape and rescue plans), lamination up to DIN A1 and more. We
offer a selection of adjustable frames with various designs and looks.
Those who want a somewhat more appealing mount can of course
choose from our acrylic frames that we produce in-house.
