1ST ACTIVITY (STAS111 -2ND SEMESTER)
REFLECTION:
1. Which developments in the information age brought significant changes in the way
you live your life today?
Mobile devices are one of the prominent developments in the information age that
brought a significant change in my life since it brought people of great distance to be
connected with each other. These devices brought people closer and they were able to
communicate with each other, like how I am able to call or message my family, my
relatives who live islands or even a country away from me. Along with it is the internet,
which enabled me to live my life easier than before. It helped me with creating my
academic or organizational tasks by providing various and great sites or sources to choose
from to help me with my work. It enabled not just me but everyone else to live our lives
easier because of its information-providing attributes and a platform for everyone to use
to discuss topics that will make them more aware of their surroundings, politically or for
entertainment purposes. Identical to my previously mentioned developments, social
media also aided me profoundly in interacting or even communicating with not just my
loved ones but with the people who have the same interest as me, and that also developed
me into being socially aware and improving my way of communication to all walks of
life.
2. How did the transmission of information evolve from ancient times up to the
present?
3. As a student, how will you use social media to ensure that you do not propagate
inaccurate and unreliable information?
As a student who is quite chronically online and who relies their work and daily
routine to these mentioned advancements, I will use social media to ensure the
information’s reliability and accuracy by utilizing and maximizing its own purpose and
capability to research, double-check, and approve it with the help of people who are in
the field or more knowledgeable of the said information to actually dissect and and
pinpoint which is factual and which is not. One word, even a dot or exclamation point,
that is posted on any of the platforms can mean anything. So not just me, rather, all of us
should be careful when sharing information and speaking our thoughts online as it can
affect on the people involved or using the social media platforms greatly, especially if it’s
not accurate and blatantly false and we’re not aware of it.

people in our society. It could be something that you can develop to help in communication,
transportation, health and the like. Illustrate your device in a short bond paper and submit
it by a file.
