It empowers us with power.

It refers to the state of being able to read and write.

Literacy opens doors to various things. It enhances one's personality, viewpoints

and understanding skills.
Besides understanding skills, it also improves processing and analysing skills.
Once a person is literate and educated , he/she gets to know the real world. It's
positive and negative sides.
Thus, it can be said that literacy gives people a broader view of everything.

Literacy is the fist step for individual and collective development.

It creates opportunities to develop skills and use those skills in future.
It is required in daily life, from communicating to sharing ideas and many more
things.
It is basically the foundation for education.

It enables people to contribute towards their nation. Through it, individuals get
to know their duties and rights.
They get engaged in activities such as voting, volunteering and raising voices for
their communities.
For example, if people are literate enough to understand the importance of a
single vote , it will definitely highlight democracy and ensure good governance.
Ultimately, it protects the society from getting exploited.

unemployment, discrimination, inequalities, violence and so on. Higher literacy
levels leads to awareness among the people.
For example, women literacy results in women empowerment.
Hence , illiteracy blindly motivates people to follow misconceptions and
superstitions.

It is observed that most of the underdeveloped countries have low literacy levels!

society, often fail to understand it's significance.

Hence, the government must organise literacy programs and spread it's awareness
among everyone.
