1. Crankshaft deflection after overhauling was measured. The measurements are attached in a separate table.
2. The sump tank was filled with fresh lube oil, and a pre-lubricating test was carried out. The test confirm the proper
lubrication of the bearings, pistons cooling lines, camshaft bearings, etc.
3. After the A/E No2 governor was dismantled from A/E No1 and installed in its original place, the A/E No2 engine was started.
The Auxiliary engine No2 has been tested without load in the following sequence:
• 1 minute running on 720 rpm; after that, the engine was stopped, and the crankcase opened for inspection (main bearings
average temp. ~44˚C and crank pin bearings average temp~47˚C)
• After 5 minutes of running at 720 rpm, the engine was stopped, and the crankcase opened for inspection (main bearings
average temp ~47˚C and crank pin bearings average temp~51˚C).
• After 15 minutes of running at 720 rpm, the engine was stopped, and the crankcase opened for inspection (main bearings
average temp ~60˚C and crank pin bearings average temp~62˚C).
• 30 minutes, the engine was running at 720 rpm with all parameters within specification range.
