Accomplishment Report on
Remedial Reading S.Y.

I. INTRODUCTION
Reading is one of the important element in education. Understanding what we are
reading is the very main point of teaching reading. It is vital because it helps in developing one’s
mind.
At the beginning of the class 2018-2019 (June 18, 2018) the Grade 1 Teachers
conducted Reading Assessment to all Grade 1 pupils of Calulut Integrated School.
The objectives of the program are as follow: To select and identify pupils who will undergo
on the remedial reading and to assess the reading level of the pupils through giving Pre-
test.
After the reading assessment teachers brainstormed on the different interventions that
might be used by the teachers to improve the reading skills of the pupils. A conference was
also held where in the results of the reading assessment was tackled to the parents.

II. DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED


To increase the reading proficiency of pupils by presenting engaging activities is one of
the objectives of this program. Stated below are the list of activities that were done during
the remedial reading process:
● Reading short stories

● Letter recognition

● Sound syllables

● Reading word sentences

III. INVOLVEMENT OF STAKEHOLDERS

Our parents and other stakeholders were involved in the Reading Remedial.
They were given instructions regarding the activities and also were ask to extend their help in
the said program by monitoring and continuously guiding their children at home when it comes
in reading.
IV. IMPACT OF ACTIVITIES

The Grade 1 teachers of Calulut Integrated School conducted a successful remedial


reading program as shown on the result (progress results) of the beneficiaries of the said
program.

V. ISSUES AND CONCERNS

Calulut Integrated School conducted a successful remedial reading program.


Teachers, pupils and other stakeholders participated in the said program. No issues were
observed.

VI. RECOMMENDATIONS

● We recommend that this kind of activity should be continued yearly to help pupils who
are having reading problems.
● Conduct trainings and seminars that promote and will give teachers some new ways
and techniques in teaching reading.

VII. BEST PRACTICES

Parents’ involvement is very important when it comes to any program. Having them
involve will help us motivate their children in any activities.
