Booster - Air Pressure Intensifiers

Ingersoll Rand’s Compressed Air Pressure Intensifiers are a simple low-cost method for
improving air system performance and resolving point of use low-pressure problems. By
installing an Ingersoll Rand Booster, it is possible to boost your air pressure by a 2:1 ratio. For
example, an incoming pressure to the booster of 80 psi, and output pressure of up to 160 psi
can be achieved. Ingersoll Rand intensifiers require no electricity and are completely self-
contained units. Simply pipe compressed air into the inlet port of the unit and adjust the unit’s
integral pressure regulator to the required discharge pressure. High-pressure air will be
delivered. All Ingersoll Rand intensifiers are mounted on a 12-gallon 200 psi AMSE rated buffer
tank, which helps prevent pulsation in the volume of air delivered from the booster to your
application. The tank is fitted with a 200 psi safety relief valve and manual drain valve.

Booster - Air Pressure Intensifiers

The Air Pressure Booster includes the following components:
x Booster Pump x Inlet Filter
x Air Tank x Silencer
x Safety Valve x Discharge Line
x Discharge Pressure Gauge x Drain Valve
x Discharge Pressure Regulator x Vibration Pads
x Inlet Pressure Gauge x Ingersoll Rand Branding (adhesive)

Additional Specifications
x 1.6 MPa max operating pressure
x 0.2-1.6 MPa set pressure range
x 0.1-1.0 supply pressure range
x 1600 cfm max flow rate
x 1/2” NPTF threaded IN, OUT & EXH ports
x 1/8” NPTF threaded gauge port

Note:
x Pressure Booster should be installed indoors with ambient conditions between 2o and
50oC with no possibility of freezing
x The In port of the booster regulator has metallic mesh to prevent dust from entering the
booster. However, it cannot remove dust continuously or separate drainage. Make sure
to install a mist separator on the inlet side of the booster regulator
x The booster regulator has a sliding part inside, and it generates dust. Also, install an in-
line air filter on the outlet side as necessary.
x If a lubricator is required for end use equipment, ensure it is installed on the outlet side
as accumulated oil in the booster regulator may result in a malfunction.
x Allow sufficient space for maintenance and inspection
x Provide a dedicated pipe to release the exhaust air from each booster regulator. If
exhaust air is converged into a pipe, the back pressure that is created could cause
improper operation.
