I. Activity 1
Prepare a forecast of the human needs of an engineering firm.
a. Current and future project workload. Review current and upcoming projects to
determine the number of engineers and support staff needed. This depends on the size and
complexity of the projects, as well as the expected deadlines and tasks.
b. Turnover rates. Knowing the firm's past turnover rates helps forecast the need for
new hires. It's important to consider voluntary and involuntary turnover and how they
affect staffing levels.
c. Skill gaps. Identifying existing or potential skill gaps in the firm helps plan
recruitment and training. This involves examining the current workforce's skills and
assessing what skills will be needed for future projects and technologies.
