About Us
1 UK Air Sqn.NCC was raised at Pantnagar in
2008 as the first air squadron in the (UK)
Uttarakhand Directorate. The main office is
located at the Stevenson Stadium GBPUA&T,
Pantnagar with a technical office subordinate to
it located at Aeromodelling section, Pantnagar.

The commanding officer has been playing


the role of a guiding institution and
provides vision for execution of motto of
NCC “UNITY AND DISCIPLINE” with the
present responsibility on the shoulders of
Grp.Capt. A.K Chauhan with support of a
Posted Instructional (PI) Staff which
provides training to cadets.

GBPUA&T Pantnagar -Sub-unit


G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and
Technology,Pantnagar is a sub-unit of 1
UK Air Sqn. NCC.

The intake is from the students of colleges of


the university. It has a strength of 52 cadets
who are given NCC training under the guidance
of Dr. Ajeet Pratap Singh, Caretaker officer
(CTO) of the sub-unit.
a) Physical Training
The cadets are given physical training to build
endurance, strength and flexibility. Health runs, PT
and body weight exercises are part of this training

b) Drill
It is the bedrock of discipline,
cadets are taught proper
dressing, turnout and
movements.

 Weapon Drill
It is performed using self-loading rifle ( SLR’s)..

c) Weapon Training
 0.22’’ Shooting
It is performed using Mark-IV gun.
 Grouping
 Snap

 Skeet Shooting
In skeet shooting ,cadets are supposed to attempt
to break clay targets which two fixed stations
mechanically fling into the air at high speed and
at a variety of angles using a double barrel
shotgun.[1]

d) Microlite
Cadets get an opportunity to fly in a microlite aircraft VIRUS SW-80.1 UK Air Sqn. NCC
has two microlite.

 Simulator
 The unit has VIRUS aircraft’s simulator
training section at Technical office.

e) Aeromodelling
Cadets deal with design, development and flying of small
engine powered aircrafts. Air wing gives an opportunity to pursue this expensive hobby
to cadets.

 Radio Control (RC)


RC models can fly and are
controlled using transmitter.

 Control Line
 Static-These are scaled-
down plane models
that cannot fly. These models are mainly
constructed using plastic, metal, wood or paper.

f) Tent-Pitching- Cadets are trained to set up a


tent during camping.

g) Personality Development- Group


discussion and public speaking classes are organized
for personality development of cadets.
Social Awareness campaigns and activities

International Yoga Day The United


Nations (UN) has declared 21st June as the
International Day of Yoga. As per the Honorable
Prime Minister’s directions, NCC cadets across
the Nation have to participate in this event. As
directed, our NCC Air Wing organized the Yoga
Day program for Air Wing cadets, 52 cadets
participated and got benefited.

“Swachh Bharat” and “Har Ghar


Tiranga” Campaign
A national cleaning drive under the title “SWACHH
BHARAT CAMPAIGN” was being conducted in the
university campus to bring awareness and clean
the campus. NCC Air wing cadets actively
participated in it.

University Events NCC Air wing cadets have actively participated in the Independence
Day, Republic Day celebrations and University Athletics Meet 2022.They always come up with
a social theme on events of national importance like Teachers Day, Vijay Diwas.
Chief Minister’s (CM) Silver Medal
 CUO Arti Airy, cadet of our sub-unit received Chief Minister silver medal in year
2022 for her extraordinary performance in NCC, was awarded one-time
scholarship worth Rs. 2000.

Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2022


 Four cadets of our sub-unit represented UK Directorate in Annual Republic Day
Camp 2022.

 12 cadets of our sub-unit represented UK directorate in AIVSC 2022 at Jodhpur,
Rajasthan from 24 Sept to 5 Oct 22.
