MSABC Mission Statement
The Mining Suppliers Association of B.C. (MSABC) is a non-profit
association, affiliated with the Mining Association of British
Columbia.

Formed in 1986, it comprises suppliers, contractors and

consultants to the BC mining industry who are committed to
promoting the sustainability of this valuable resource.
Recognizing the importance of mining to the economic well-
being of the province, the mission of the association is to
promote the development of a sustainable mining industry in BC
by “Building a Better Future for Mining.”

To achieve this mission, the Association:

1. Is represented on the board of The Mining Association of

British Columbia (MABC) and is a full partner in the
campaign for positive public awareness of the industry.
2. Offers expertise and active participation in the
development of governmental policy affecting the industry.
3. Helps funding activities of the MABC designed to positively
encourage public and political support of the industry,
including:
i. The Mineral Resources Education Program
ii. Mining Week – the annual province wide
celebration of mining’s contribution to the
B.C. economy
iii. Mining for Miracles – the industry’s campaign
for B.C. Children’s Hospital. As of 2006, the
industry has raised approximately $8 million.
iv. Numerous industry events and programs for
government representatives, mining
engineering students, the general public and
our own members.

The future direction of our industry relies on the active

involvement of its suppliers, contractors and consultants.

It is the right thing to do.

Message From The MSABC Chair

A Time of Positive Change

Welcome to the 2011 edition of

the Mining Suppliers Association of
BC’s (MSABC) membership
directory. Much has changed since
our last edition, including our
name, yet we remain committed to
our founding principle – to support
the mining industry in British
Columbia.

To this end, we have made some positive changes in

recent years. We have become more closely aligned with
the Mining Association of BC (MABC) and are now full
voting members of that association, and sit on their
Executive Committee. With this initiative we have made
constructive strides in publicly supporting mining
initiatives, increasing membership and developing closer
ties with MABC. In turn, MABC members have
demonstrated their support for MSABC members through
published statements, and are encouraging their
procurement team to consider the membership status of
its bidders. In short, the synergy that is being created by
our two associations is exciting and we look forward to
continued growth together.

We have also secured a Director, MSABC Relations, Alec

Morrison, to work within MABC for the betterment of
both of our associations. It is under his leadership, and
working together with Sylvia Gillies and Michelle Donnelly

12
that this Directory has come together. We appreciate that
this Directory will experience ongoing changes, so be sure
to check it out online from time to time at
www.miningsuppliersbc.ca.

Lastly, through our very successful networking and

fundraising events, we have continued to support a
number of non-profit & charitable organizations such as
the Mineral Resources Education Program of BC and
Mining for Miracles. We can all be proud of what we give
back to our community through our donations as an
Association, and through our individual and company
donations. We are making a difference!

Thank you to all of our members for your continued

support.

Cheers,

Patty Moore

Message From The Chair Of
The Mining Association of BC

I would like to congratulate the Mining Suppliers

Association on the publication of their 2011 Membership
Directory. This will be an excellent tool for mines,
industrial mineral producers and smelters to use to find
quality supplies and services in BC.

Simply put, mines could not operate without a reliable

network of suppliers, contractors and consultants. The
companies listed in this directory play an integral role in
the mining industry and support the livelihoods of
thousands of families. They will be needed as our industry
grows in every region of BC.

Once again, congratulations to MSABC for the publication

of their 2011, Membership Directory.

Sincerely,

John McManus
