"This must be done by laying down x strong base, on each suppert of the levelling points, between the foundation and the ‘mschine leg. ) ANTIVIBRATORY POSITIONING. ~Place the antivibratory pad betwen the foundation and the lef ofthe nthe in every evelling point ©) FIXED POSITIONING. Ona light foundation, make the square holes 200 mm. each side by 250 mm. deep approximately. Fit the three previously prepared flat irons (70x20), inline with the centres of the levelling points. See page 8. Pour concrete into etch of the equare holes and leave to set -Liftthe machine from the floor and fit part (A) into each levelling point with the rod centred in the inner hole of the ‘tightening device (B) and anchor well. Place the machine on the previously fited fat frons and weld. a Proceed to level IMPORTANT: In the antivibratory and fixed positioning ways, the rods must NEVER rub against the inner hole of the tightening device (B). : LEVELLING ‘Once the bases are in place, proceed to level, following our instructions: Fit precision levels (0.05 mm/mt) on the crous slide, as indicated inthe Position the carriage on the centre ofthe bed and by means ofthe 4 end tightening devices (C) obtain a reading of .05 ‘nat onthe levels. Adjust the tighfening devices (D) until they place pressure but do not vary the levelling, -Lock with nuts (E) and check the levelling again, Check that all the tightening devices are supported. “Before starting work with the machine, check the tolerances withthe verification sheet enclosed with this manual, ITIS/ADVISABLE TO MAKE A COMPLETE VERIFICATION FROM TIME TO TIME. ‘ANTIVIBRATORY DETAIL ROD “AY INITIAL STARTUP Electrical connection mast be carried out by qualified people. ‘Connect the motor and the controls to a suitable electricity supply in accordance with all the local codes. Before connecting the ‘notor, make sure that all the voltages and other current requirements ofthe motor adapt to the electrical power supply. When the ‘connection has been made, check that the motor phase (rotation) is corect, checking thatthe rotation of the main shaft or face plate is forwards when the start lever is down. -12- VISIBLE PARTS 31 u.-96 item Description 7 Headstock frame 2 (OC gearbox 3 Headstock 4 Feed control 5 ‘Speed control 6 Feed direction control 7 ‘Speed control 5 Face, plate 3 Oit_tevei_window 10 ‘Splash_guard iW Cross slide : 1% Longitudinal carriage 15 Coolant nozzle support i 14 Tool gost 18 Topside 16: Taiistock lock Ta7 Tailstock barrel lock 78 Tailstock 19 Tailstock hondwhee! 20.__| Bed a Lead screw 22 Feed shaft 23 Tolistock pedestal 24 ‘On switch B Lead nut control 26 ‘Automatic _moverwent control 2 ‘Apron oil level window 28 ‘Apron_handwheel 2 Apron 30 Travelling bor support 3t Front skirt B Shaft support bracket ET QC _gearbax-feed/thread_selection Hu QC gearbox oil level_window % {QC gearbox control 35 Selector Ea (QC _georbox control 38 (QC gearbox contra! 8 Cover plate 40 Headstock pedestal at Electrical box 2 Quadrant=plate doar 45 Coolant nozzle ws Thread dial 6 Pump motor on-off pushbutton 46 Main Motor on-off pushbutton a7 Broke pedal % Bor guard %__[Front guard C € 50__| Plate guard dD MTe6016 a 5 i ceed Te2o19/01168 | HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS om WL ‘tis not the aim of this manual to provide instructions for executing each and every one of the jobs that the aischine can do. It is assumed thatthe operator is trained in the use of this type of machine. The descriptions which are given in the following chapter correspond to the identification of the lathe controls and indicators with their functions. This type of machine is designed to be able to do any type of lathe work sccording tothe capacities described in the characteristics: ‘Before starting the machine up: - Check if the machine has been Iubricated according to the diggram. ~ Check that the start contro! level is in horizontal position. ~ Connect the electrical current. + Select the correct speed for the work to be done by means of the speed change controls situated on the ; headstock. To select any speed, the main spindle or face plate must be stopped. MANUAL MOVEMENT CHOICE ) = The automatic movement control handle situated on the square apron plug must be in the horizontal position. + The longitudinal movement is obtained withthe wheel situated on the apron. + The transversal movement is obtained with the wheel situated on the carriage. With these movements neither the quadrant plate nor the quick-change wearbox operate. AUTOMATIC MOVEMENT CHOICE + FEEDING - Plive the feed direction control handle situated on the headstock in the position which indicates feed to the left. + Select the desired work feed (see section "choice of feeds”). - Place the QC gearbox handle in feeding position. Position the feed movement control handle situated on the apron upwards. With the position iadicated, the carriage moves towards the face plate. - For the carriage to move to the tailstock, change the position of the feed direction control handle, always ‘iaintaining the rotation of the faceplate in the normal working direction. + GRINDING Position the control handles as described in feeding section, except for the feed movement control handle situated ‘on the apron which must be positioned downwards. } THREADING + This operation must always be done in automatic movement. = Choose desired thread interval (see "thread choice" section). - Place the apron nut control handle in the downwards position (mut closed). To do this, the feed movement control handle must be in the neutral position (horizontal). eho oaH8GE to move toward the faceplate or tistock se the fed ection contol situated onthe IMPORTANT To be able to use the feed movement control Aandle situated on the apron, the apron nut control handle must be horzootal (aut open) due to safety mechanism which prevents the feed- bandle from operating when threading or vive versa. ‘The same occurs to activate the nut contro! handle, so the feed movement handle must be in the horizontal _ positon. rg202096017 E ae u80 START UP - The start up handle, situated on the right ofthe apron, start up the machine. STOP = Adjust the control = To start the machine handle (A), situating it in the STOP position. ‘up again, use handle (A) according to start up instructions. Gi ‘NOTE: To regulate the braking time, use the brake timer situated on the left-hand side of the electrical box. cee LATHE WITH LEAD SCREW IN MILLIMETRES asin 8-00 LONGITUDINAL FEED SELECTION, ~ See which feed of those indiceted onthe plat is suitable for the work to be caried out. CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT FOR TURNING 7) ~ STANDARD | ‘The machines leave the factory withthe clutch adjusted at the corect tension, Asa guide, the machine must support, when tuning, a pass depth of Imm. per 1 HP motor power. I, due to wear of the fibre washer (A), it should not take the pass, the tension must be increased by tightening nut (B) in a clockwise direction, having previously taken off the 3 screws which secure it. ‘fon the contrary it takes more pass, the tension will have to be reduced by slackening nut (B) in an anticlockwise direction. - RAPID FEED ‘Machines are manufactured in our works withthe electromagnetic clutch regulated with «tolerance of 0,2 -0,3 mm. ‘These electromagnetic clutches do not accept any regulation. HEADSTOCK SET-OVER ADJUSTMENT The set-over ofthe headstock or lack of parallelism of the headstock withthe bed, is corrected by adjusting screw (J) in one direction "| or another, as necessary. ‘To do this, the four attachment screws of the headstock or bed must be slackened beforehand. IMPORTANT.
