78th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising

Every year on the evening of July 31, Krasiński Square in Warsaw gathers insurgents,
representatives of state and local authorities and Warsaw residents who pay tribute to the
fallen heroes of the 1944 uprising. At the Monument to the Warsaw Uprising located there, a
field mass is celebrated and then the solemn Appeal of Remembrance is read out.

The President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, took part in the 78th anniversary of
the Warsaw Uprising. He was accompanied by ministers: Piotr Ćwik, Paweł Soloch and
Wojciech Kolarski. Andrzej Duda noticed that every year the anniversary celebrations are
attended not only by the inhabitants of the capital, insurgents and their relatives, but also by
Poles from different parts of the country.

The greatest victory of the Warsaw Uprising is the incredible sense of community. People
come here to be a part of it - said the President.
