PORTABLE ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT / POWER TOOLS INSPECTION CHECKLIST

The following checks are included in this checklist:

1 Casings not cracked or damaged 8 Taped joints on cable.


2 Switches working. 9 For Power Tools – effective guards in place.
3 Cable and plug connections/screws tight. 10 For Power Tools – blades, discs in place and in good condition.
4 Cable in good condition, no exposed wires, repairs done properly & waterproof. 11 For Power Tools – drill bits in good condition.
5 Any signs of loose connections on plug. 12 Check the handle and body casing of the tool for cracks or other damage
6 Earth connected & continuous. 13 Check for damaged switches and ones with faulty trigger locks
7 Any signs of overheating on plugs, appliances or cables

1. Inspection items must be marked “OK” if in good condition, “X” if damaged, or “N/A” if not applicable.
2. For items marked with “X”, complete the deviation form and remove from use.
